I swear turkeys are the hardest little boogers to shoot... you have to have a good choke on your gun and hit them perfect.... last year i went with a buddy shooting 3 inch shells out of a 12 gauge and it took him 3 shots... first 2 knocked it over and the third did the job

That is one thing I have never done (Turkey Hunting)..I have had opportunities while deer hunting to bust one, just never did. A lot of the people i hunt with have. When spring rolls around i go into bass fishing mode and never really had the opportunity to do a spring turkey hunt..Texas has a lot of good turkey hunting in all areas of the state and I'm sure it would be a blast (no pun intended)...I need to see some pics, I'm sure ya'll are getting tired of mine!

Im a big hunter and fisher myself. Havent shot a deer since 2005, when I got one in the morning, and one in the afternoon of the same day. I actually havent even seen a deer while hunting since 2005 .. yes, it's that depleted where I am (yet the DNR says we have an overabundance .. hmm). Ive gotten two really nice Tom's, both while hunting in 2007. One in spring and one in fall. I passed on some big ones last year because they were smaller than my previous two. I honestly think turkey is one of the easiest things to hunt around here. Haha.
Im going to try fishing for the first time this year on Friday, hopefully I can get out there. Turkey hunting for me in Wisconsin is April 17th - 19th. I will certainly have to let you guys know how I do. Ill see if I cant get some pics up of past hunts/fishes as well.

I am a native Texan and it don't hardly get colder than the high 20's, low 30's down here. I can only imagine what it's like during deer season in Wisconsin. I'd really be wanting to sleep in up there..I bet that spring turkey hunt is going to be choice though...Please take pics and post what you have already...

(Don't correct my spelling)...Supposedly this was found at the back of a local refinery along the Houston Ship Channel...Don't you know the construction workers had to go home and change thier britches after stumbling up on this little feller?

left at 9 this morning for fishing and just got back now. turned out to be a great day. I went with my dad, girlfriend, and brother in law. the day started off on the right foot when within the first hour my dad cought a 14" brown and an 8" brookie. after a while of not much action, my girlfriend of all people (can hardly even cast) pulls these 2 out of some crazy rapids within 20 minutes of each other, 15" and 16" browns.......

another few hours passed with nothing and we decided to call it quits. on the way out, me and my brother in law stopped to try a few casts in one last hole to hopefully get our first of the season. while he was still rigging his pole I threw an extra splitshot on and casted out into some deep rapids. sure enough, first cast I get a hit and hook into something huge. after a great fight I got her near the shore and was disgusted thinking it was so big it must be a sucker. but lo and behold.........

a 21" brown....unbelievable....I did a little research and found that during an electrofishing survey that the DEC did back in 2006, they managed to find one fish that was 19". I still can't believe it. can't wait until next week to hopefully get out there again :)
and here's a closer picture of the fish since I took about 15 before tossing her back in lol....
