    Iverson: Retire over Bench

If Allen Iverson means it when he says he'd rather retire than keep coming off the bench, then this isn't an issue for Pistons coach Michael Curry or president Joe Dumars to resolve. This is a matter for Dr. Phil, because this is about Iverson's love of the game, his commitment to a relationship that's lasted for a quarter of a century.

    What a class act.

blah blah blah. this is clearly a statement he has said after being frustrated. it means nothing, and allen iverson is one of the most dedicated people to this game.

Surprise, surprise. This is the same guy that went off about practice. If he wants to retire, let him.

So if he wants to continue playing, he won't be demoted to the unwanted role of reserve? Sorry, but if you are a true team player, you make sacrifices for the betterment of your team.

Frustrated because he's not regarded as a superstar anymore. Dedicated? Sorry, but retiring over coming off the bench is not dedication.

Personally, this is very sad for me to hear. Iverson has always been one of my favorite players ever since he came into the league with the same class of Kobe, and it's a shame that the Pistons would disrespect this way. I hope another team next year gives Iverson a better chance to succeed.

yeah, over 10 years ago buddy, old news. a 14 year old today was probably crapping in his pants still 10 years ago, doesnt mean hes still doing it now right? lol.

when hes on the court, tell me one time where he has given up in a game? he would dive into the stands for a ball even if there were 20 seconds left in the game and they were down by 10. i would be upset too, he cant do anything for his team when he is on the bench. there playing him for 18 minutes. sure he may not be a superstar anymore but he is definitely a starter on any team.

i feel the same way. he messed up early in his career but he got through that and to bring that up agianst him now is just dumb.

he is one of, if not THE most energetic player on the court and hes his heart 110% in the game when he is on the court.
