IMO, the best Detroit player so far in this series, besides osgood, has been Cleary. It always seems that the player you trade away or just let go is the player that comes back to bite you in the a** when it matters most.

I agree!!! Good all the way around!

although that hit was hard to watch in the replays (his eyes looked like he was in la-la-land) i thought that call was off. if there is ever a call that i wonder about I just try to imagine if my team was penalized and if I think it was justifiable. I would have been ****** with the outcome of that play for sure.

on that note i cant wait to see the hawks tie it up on sunday. $420 for 2 300 level seats, ugh.

I am getting sick of seeing the SAME Wings fan(and you know who you are) not giving other teams there props!! I love the Wings but dude you are really close to making even me root for another team to win!! Stop with all your The Wings Are Gods posts please!!! They are good!!! But even the Best can be beaten!!!

And also the wings were not just outplayed the were absolutely DOMINATED except for a 4 minute period in the second!!

hmm.. I find it funny how the team that got dominated managed to outshoot the other team 30-27, and despite having 15 more penalty minutes. Also we played with no Lilja, kopecky, Kronwall, and both Draper and Stuart were injured in the 3rd period.

I am entitled to my opinion, and I dont feel that the hawks even belong in the same league with the red wings. It took so many bad things to happen to detroit just for chicago to get a win in OT. My statement was justified.

What about game 2 then... all you say is Wings this, wings that. You sound like Crosby.. but worse. If the Hawks beat the Wings in this series.. it is because of luck and skill... why can't you be a fan of phoneix or something

Not going to get into if it was a clean hit or not, just hope he is OK and not hurt. Too many good players have had their career cut short due to hits like that.
I do have a question for you Red Wings fans. If that was Datsyuk or Zetterberg or anybody on the Wings, would you still be saying that was a clean hit? Don't say that wouldn't happen to anybody on the Wings neither. It could happen to anybody at anytime. If I remember correctly Zetterberg got nailed once or twice last night.
This should make for an even more interesting game on Sunday.

I agree - Hope he is alright....He has been healthy this year - just sucks that he may not make it to the end.....

Kinda clean... no elbow.. whoever said there was... shoulder. He left his feet AFTER the hit...

It does look like more shoulder than elbow (I thought all elbow at first) and he did leave his feet after the hit.....but it was to the head which worries me more than anything - and to some extent....it looked like intent to injure...but that is not for me to decide...
What bothers me about the hit was after....in the video posted here shows Stuart pretty much laughing after talking to an official....THAT bothers me more than the hit itself.....

I think it was a clean (extremely hard nonetheless) hit, because when you have the puck in between your skates, any referee will tell you that you have posession of the puck. Havlat was looking down and had no idea kronwall was about to knock him into tomorrow. The ruling of interference was definitely incorrect. I could see maybe a 2 minute minor being justified here but thats about it. May I bring up the Brad Stuart hit on RJ Umberger in round 1, that was the same hit with no call.
By the way I wouldnt say the wings were off last night, I just think they were stunned by all the penalties in the first period, then they had to take some time figuring out how to play without kronwall and datsyuk. One guy who definitely wasn't off was Chris Osgood...he may have let in 4 goals...but they were 4 goals that were humanly impossible to stop. He's been great. I DO think the wings will bounce back.

This is pretty much exactly how I thought you would respond....4 goals that were humanly impossible to stop...Hahahaha Phalsson scored on him for goodness sake...Hahaha

I dont think the hawks outplayed the wings. How can you say we were outplayed when we spent over half the 1st period shorthanded?

Actually they played 9 minutes shorthanded...
    Detroit - 2 min 6:35, D. Cleary
Detroit roughing - 2 min 13:08, J. Franzen - cancel each other out
Chicago roughing - 2 min 13:08, D. Byfuglien - cancel each other out

    Detroit - 5 min 13:08, N. Kronwall served by J. Hudler
    Detroit game misconduct - 10 min 13:08, N. Kronwall - Not shorthanded
    Detroit holding - 2 min 18:15, J. Ericsson
    Detroit slashing - 2 min 20:00, B. Lebda - End of period
    Chicago slashing - 2 min 20:00, P. Sharp - End of period

The hit was borderline, but the fact of the matter is that Kronwall typically plays like a dirtbag, so he deserved no benefit of the doubt. He always takes runs at people, he always goes for the head, and he ALWAYS leaves his feet. This one was borderline like I said, but its about time he gets called for something.

There are no dirty players on Detroit - Dont you know that yet....sheesh

First off....if the Red Wings didnt commit those penalties, they wouldnt be short for that long...so they are not as innocent as you claim them to be....
Being dominated doesnt mean more shots...far from it...more aspects of the game that a team can dominate their opponent.....
I give you Stuart but who cares about the others...Hawks didnt have Havlat (Their team leading point scorer, +/-, assists and 2nd in many other catagories) - I wouldnt even say it was evened up in missing players but Chicago got it done...broken stick or not
Yes, you are in titled to your opinion....unfortuantely it is so bias, it doesnt have much creditability....and your statement is not justified...

And just so everyone knows - I dont care who wins or loses in this series....I think both teams have fought hard and did what they had to to get where they are....both team have some HUGE talent and I have actually enjoyed this series....
I just want the West to win the Cup....Either the Youngest Playoff Team or the team with the most Playoff Experience (and a guy that wants to show Pittsburgh why he moved to Detroit)

and as Rayzorsports said earlier - sometimes the other team deserve their props....You can still be a homer but be realistic and there are no perfect teams that do nothing wrong

THIS IS HOCKEY - DEAL WITH IT AND MOVE ON!!!!

Oh BTW - Did Crosby complain that the hat throwing on Malkins hattrick was taking too much time - I missed the public address announcement that told the Pittsburgh fans to stop....
    Anyone hear that announcement???

    yeah - didnt think so...

CSS the cleary penalty in the first period was 4 min not 2. Also the red wings arent at fault for taking all those penalty's everyone in the whole world knows the kronwall check was legal...so we got screwed on 15 minutes there and lost a player.
