I really enjoyed the movie, easy to get lost in it and forget the real world for a bit, which is why I go to the movies like this and don't look for tie ins to real world issues. Going to see it in 3D this weekend.

Exactly my thoughts, exactly my thoughts, and me too! For a third time LOL (first time IMAX 3D)

Saw the move 2x. The first time was not in 3-D and enjoyed it immensely. Saw it this past weekend finally in 3-D and it became my favorite movie of the year.

Well I finally saw it. 3d gives me a headache so I saw the 2d version. I wanted to enjoy the film anyways. Great movie even though it is cliched and has a typical popcorn flick ending. Cameron has created a beautiful planet in Pandora. I felt as if I was in another world for 2+ hours. Not bad for a $7 ticket. Acting was solid although the script wasn't free of cheesy/cliched dialogue. Watching the trailers and clips I was skeptical of how the Na'vi looked and the CGI...but it looked fantastic. I'm ready to see lots of blue chicks next Halloween!

I rarely go to the theaters twice for one movie. If Avatar is still playing at a nearby Imax next month...I just might make another trip.

    9/10

And I finally saw it too...I'm actually very surprised I got to see it in the theaters, but my wife suggested it so I jumped on it ASAP.

It was definitely the prettiest movie I've ever seen. Some of the blatant attempts to make use of 3D was a little cheesy, but overall, the 3D was very well done, which I was skeptical about. The CGI in general was fantastic. I love the Hallelujah Mountains, beautiful. But as has been mentioned numerous times, the story was nothing new and followed the typical popcorn formula. And I was able to enjoy it despite this, but it's pretty blatant how it paints humans and corporations especially as evil, nature-raping murderers.

To me, a great movie requires more than pretty images though...becuase of the story, I can't give it more than an 8. If as much was invested in the story and plot as was the visuals, this really would have been something mind-blowing.

Lots of nude real blue chicks...sounds like a plan.
