    Thanks for all of suggestions!

I'm mainly looking for a forward that will play in the NHL next year, or at least have cards come out that I can collect.

Any suggestions on a Flyers prospect?

We don't have many rookies that could come through next year besides Patrick Maroon, although he probably may not make the starting roster. Depending on injuries which always plagues use, haha.

Marc-Andre Bourdon is a D-man who is likely to make it out of camp more than anyone in my opinion, but like you said, you would like a forward.

Maroon won't make it out unless he suddenly steps it up and becomes amazing. That will take a miracle though.

And yeah, Bourdon was the only person I could really think of making it out of camp, but that will probably only happen if Parent gets injured. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I would also suggest Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson. Will likely be cheaper than some of the biggest RCs and yet has lots of potential. Still can't believe that he was picked 10th overall, but I'm sure glad the Oilers got him.

What cards does he have so far?

From the looks of Beckett and Ebay, he doesn't have any (even ITG which is surprising). I'm hoping that he is a rookie in October.

With Paajarvi-Svensson he may be similar to nicklas backstrom from washington which would be great for the oilers and collectors of him

Some says he is comparable to a guy I know pretty well...

    Jake Voracek.

MPS will be under the radar because of Hall/Seguin. A bit like Jake beeing under the radar because of Brassard/Filatov/Mason last year. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive.

The best thing to do is to find the cheapest option possible that is indeed a SAFE bet, a guy who has loads of potential but barely known and not the type of player who will win a Calder. A guy that will develop a bit more slowly (3-4 years). That's what I was looking for and I think I choosed the right guy.

Don't just pick a Flyers because it's your favourite team. I was not a fan of the Blue Jackets and now let's say I discovered them and their players. My favourite team is still the Pens, there are no obligations for you to collect only Flyers guys. The only thing that does is to limit yourself.

Anyways, my best advice would be to read about the players. A lot. Choosing a guy to collect is something so personal. In my opinion, you need to like his style of play, his attitude and everything. If you don't, sooner or later you will drop your collection. Check mock drafts, scouting reports, teams news, and type every player name that interests you on google. You will end up finding the right guy for you. You will feel it.

    Again, my opinion.

Some very good advice Pata. Personally I would find it very hard to collect outside of my favorite team though.

I think he may be. The Oilers need some offense next season.

Sounds like you still aren't sure who to go with. I feel for ya.....been there already. Its a big choice so you want to make sure you get it right.

Myself, I went with Nikita Filatov from Columbus because I saw him play at the World Juniors and he really impressed me. I could see that he plays with heart and he had a really good chance of possibly becoming the next Kovalchuk. You just never know.

Have you thought about one of these guys? A couple of 2009 first-round picks that may have good careers and the top scoring leader in the league.

Brayden Schenn - Wheat Kings - Kings prospect
Scott Glennie - Wheat Kings - Stars prospect
Brandon Kozun - Hit Men - Kings prospect
