I'm going to pass on this Panini product, the random lines scattered throughout the card, the "foilboard" and just the overall look.
The problem I have, is I've seen way to much of the randomness and "foil" from Panini in other sports, and I'm not a fan of the look.
So here's hoping Panini surprises me, or something.
Otherwise, my money stays with tried and tested Itg.

I'm so glad that Kris Russell isn't in this. I doubt John Moore will be either b/c he hasn't played an actual NHL game yet.

This math is wrong. The parallel situation will be the same as it was for football, for base anyways:
1 Base
/250
/100
/25
/5
/1
6 total for your player collectors from the base versions. usually the insert sets have 1 parallel. so theres two more

Just for everyones info... Al Muir (head of Panini Hockey), on another board.
"Don't know who released this checklist but wow...old, old copy."
When asked to give updated checklist...
"Can't. There are reasons for not releasing checklists until the last minute (and two months-plus out from release ain't exactly last minute). Bottom line: there are a lot of moving parts. One of those insert sets, for example? Long gone. Some of the current players listed in the autograph inserts? Out. Plenty of others, in. Negotiations with others? Ongoing. The list that's online is preliminary. It is metamorphosing even as I type this. Just wanted everyone to be aware of that."

I hope the Parallel part is WAY off base too!

DA will have it so come there.
LCM is notorious for stickers. And there are going to be a ton of parallels. As a big time Panini buyer, I am positive of these two facts. Also, almost all Panini material is game-used although with a first year hockey product it would be amazing if they already acquired game-used product.

There's a lot more than that, don't forget the Jersey, Auto, Jersey Auto, Patch, Patch Auto etc etc parallels of the base.

True, but I dont think each player has a jersey and auto.
For football, the jersey was a completely different insert set (that had around 100-125 cards in it). A lot of people just aimed to make that jersey set ("Fabrics of the Game").
The auto subset was even more limited.
So for some players, yeah there will be a ton of cards to aim for, but definetly not 50 per player.
Although if I was a player collector, that does sound like fun
