Haha should've known you'd defend him! I believe being in Minnesota was what gave him those numbers, where they had no one else. Being the #2 overall pick, much bigger things were expected from him (at least by me) than playing second fiddle on a terrible team.
After reading this thread several times, I've come to realize that the Timberwolves are indeed stacked. Compared to 90% of the WNBA and most rec leagues.

The Timberwolves are a poorly constructed NBA2k team.

He was what 19 when is was drafted how many players come out and DOMINATE at that age its rare he will have a long career he might not be a #2 pick quality player but will be a nice scorers for most teams. The NBA drafts on potential and not everyone reaches those level that are predicted for them doesn't mean they are bad players.

So being a #2 pick automatically makes him a starter on a Miami team that already had Haslem as there starter and virtually got all the minutes and you also had Shawn Marion and Jamario Moon and Dorell Wright and dont forget James Jones? I guess your expectations are a little to high because of draft numbers....Did you have that same expectations for Darko Milicic being the #2 pick of the 03-04 Draft

Not saying they'll be good or anything, but if you look at what Brandon Jennings did in the euro league it wasn't impressive either... From what I hear it's a slow paced game overseas so I still hold out hope for Rubio

With Rubio at the helm, at least the Timberwolves should be fun to watch. Hope he becomes the euro version of white chocolate with some sick passes and handles. Just bring in a shooting coach for him and he'll improve his shot. If Shawn Marion can shoot with his ugly shot then Rubio can surely improve his jumper.
Beasely underperformed the first couple of years in the league but redeemed himself quite nicely this past year. Hopefully he can continue to improve his game.Last edited by XxViSiOnxX; 06-24-2011 at 09:13 PM.

I misspoke when I said he flopped majorly...he has, to me, underperformed to this point in his career. After watching him dominate in college his freshman year, I did have pretty high expectations from him. I expected him to start and be a helluva player along side Dwayne Wade in Miami. While he was solid, he was hardly worthy of a lottery pick.
I don't think he was a bad player, I just used a poor choice of words and I apologize for that. As for Darko...well, he's Darko. That seemed like a bad idea from the get-go. Having watched Michael Beasley in college, I really did expect him to be something special, moreso than just a role player.

As i do tend to agree with you i also did have a higher expectation of him, But coming onto a team with a deep roster of Forwards in miami and a young coach in Erik Spoelstra i don't feel as if Beasley was utilized to be able to show his potential even though he was able to average nearly 14ppg in his rookie year.

Beasley has the talents to dominate in the NBA. Poor outside the court decisions may stop him from reaching that potential, unfortunately.
Watched him dominate in college and thought he was the second-coming of Durant, but Durant's work ethic vs Beasley's is probably why Durant will be a Hall-of-Famer one day and Beasley an afterthought.

Assists are counted differently. The player gets an assist when the recieving player scores immediately after getting the ball. Look at the stat leaders in Euro play, no player comes close to 10 assists per game.
