Nobody asked for a photo with and I didn't have my camera with me to get a photo with. But he seems like a cool enough guy to do photo ops with. Good luck when the Cavs come into town there.

Attended the Detroit Pistons' open practice today held at the Palace of Auburn Hills. After the practice, some of the players stopped to sign autographs. It was pretty chaotic though, with people clogging up the aisle way to the tunnels and just complete chaos all around. Missed out on center/forward Greg Monroe, guard Will Bynum, center Ben Wallace (who signed like 2 autographs and continued to the back), and pretty much everybody else I was trying to get. Only got small forward Tayshaun Prince on a trading card and my primary target there: rookie point guard Brandon Knight, on a cap that I bought there, since I didn't bring anything for him to sign.
After the practice, waited out by the players' parking lot to see if I could get anybody else to sign. Center Ben Wallace, power forward Jason Maxiell, center/forward Greg Monroe, point guard Will Bynum, guard Ben Gordon, power forward Charlie Villanueva, forward Vernon Macklin, and guard Damien Wilkins didn't stop to sign. Only got assistant coach Roy Rogers, assistant coach Dee Brown, and point guard Rodney Stuckey to sign. Power forward Jonas Jerebko and small forward Tayshaun Prince signed, but I didn't get them. Basketball Hall of Famer and team president Joe Dumars also stopped to sign, but I didn't bring anything for him and majorly missed out on getting him. Small forward Austin Daye and point guard Brandon Knight haven't come out yet, but I left because of the cold weather.

Dang on Joe Dumars. That is the first time I hear of him actually showing up and signing at one of those events. I graphed up there for a few years and I never have seen him sign. He traveled with the team down here to Charlotte last season and didn't sign at all. I am surprised more players didn't stop up there since the lockout ended and all that. I figured they would sign more...Last edited by sigman101; 12-18-2011 at 10:23 PM.

I'm surprise as you are, this being the 1st time I've ever seen him outside of his suite after the game. He was in his vehicle when he stopped and sign. It's just a travesty that I had nothing prepared for him as I didn't expect to see him nor for him to sign. I did have some blank index cards, but forgotten I had those in my folder until it was too late. My biggest missed opportunity of the year.

Detroit Lions' rookie wide receiver Titus Young and rookie defensive tackle Nick Fairley made an appearance for a paid signing they were doing at the Motor City Sports Gallery store in Troy, MI tonight. Didn't need Titus, so paid the fee and got Nick to sign my mini-helmet, plus got a photo taken with him as well.

Detroit Lions' corner back Alphonso Smith made an appearance for a free signing (with purchase of .27 cents or more from the store) held at the Fanatic U store out in Fraser, MI tonight. Got Alphonso to sign my 8 x 10 photo along with the inscription of "Go Lions!" on it.

Immediately afterward, decided to drop by the Dave & Busters out in Utica, MI, since it was on my way home, to check out the "Touchdown & Toys" toy drive taking place there, hosted by Lions' defensive tackle Andre Fluellen. Made a toy donation and got Andre Fluellen to sign my trading cards, cover of the 2011 Lions Yearbook they were giving away, and the cover of my 2011 Lions pet calendar. Defensive end Willie Young, Defensive end Lawrence Jackson, defensive end Ugo Chinasa, strong safety Chris Harris, and defensive tackle Sammie Hill were also in attendance. Got everybody else on the cover of the Lions Yearbook and Lions pet calendar, also got Lawrence Jackson on a trading card. Plus got photos taken with Fluellen, Jackson, Hill, and Young.
