It's the Pirates Dan you guys won't need your bullpen, maybe in a mop up role to protect the 10 run lead you guys will have by the 7th inning.Dan do you get the lineups from mlb.com when they post them or from somewhere else, take care Steve

I get them off twitter. The Official Tigers twitter account posts the lineups 3-5 hours before the game.
Tigers have a thing (in the past) about struggling to bad teams on the road..I'm sure the pitching will be fine, but the hitting (especially tonight) is alittle worrysome.
I blame Benoit for the bullpen disaster..Its well documented now its just a mechanical issue..According to the pitching coach his leg kick is not consistent (at all) So they have to correct that, if they correct that, he wont be hanging all his pitches up (probably)
But he's the 8th inning guy, he needs to fix it, because its apparant everyone else in the bullpen can't pitch the 8th inning either. I'm not so much worried as i'm incredibly frusterated. A fact I learned (checking the schedule this morning) of the last 8 loss's for the Tigers, 7 of them have had a reliever taking the loss, meaning the starters hand over a lead or tiegame to the bullpen and they cost us the game almost every time..
Thats a TERRIBLE stat and very frusterating..Gotta hope they turn it around..I still really like Schlereth/Alberquerque and Valverde is still amazing..everyone else is a huge question mark though

At least Leyland let's your bullpen blow the games,Girardi prefers to let his starters,a.j.burnett in particular blow it on their own by leaving him in too long.

The irony is most Tiger fans want the starters in longer..
Phil Coke 2 days ago.7 innings 78 pitches..a VERY short rain delay and leyland still pulls him
Verlander yesterday..8 innings 114 pitches..was still hitting 94-97 MPH consistently
The only starter in the rotation he pulls at the proper time is Scherzer, who goes around 105-110 pitches per game lately

That was the problem with Burnetts last start, his pitch count was still low so Girardi thought he should leave him in.There comes a time to realize your starter doesn't have it anymore, unfortunately Girardi hasn't figured that out yet.

Sizemore errors on what should've been an inning ending double play, instead its 3-1..Penny gets pulled, Villarreal comes in and allows 4 more runs..so once again, its that crappy bullpen

The spread says 5 runs on Penny, but anyone who saw the game knows he got jobbed in 3 different ways tonight..Offense cant do much though, thats the problem..Dirks, Kelly, Santiago behind VMart..Santiago is solid, but the other two give horrible depth..not to mention the ridiculous NL rules in place..interleague play should be AL rules..AL teams are built to have a DH..not risk a pitcher getting hurt for not knowing what they're doing.
