SWEEP!!!! Oh yea, only took a month to complete it, but great win! Not only did we win despite Leyland trying to blow it, but also won despite a rocky inning by Benoit.
Coke was brilliant, Leyland pulled him WAY to early and almost paid, the umps gave the Tigers a gift when the Rays tagged on a sac fly and the runner was called out even though he was safe. Game went into extra innings and Santiago had a walkoff double!

Game 1, advantage Tigers!
Justin Verlander, what could you possibly say about him. Went 7.1 innings with a no-hitter until Orlando Cabrera broke it up. Verlander didnt lose his cool though, a big day from Andy Dirks and a few sac flys and its a 4-0 Tigers win with Verlander going the distance for his 2nd shutout of the season and had 12 strikeouts!

Gotta say, I'm a huge Michigan sports fan but I've never been a fan of baseball in general. Verlander is making me watch the Tigers this year. He's been awesome and has definitely changed my perception of baseball.

Nice win today. After a Raburn error that cost Scherzer a run and a mini blowup in the first. Scherzer settled down to get his 9th win on the season. VMart & Boesch continued their impressive hitting in the month of June, Peralta with a solo bomb and it turned into a 6-2 Tigers W with Valverde finishing the game off. One of those games yesterday where you're glad its only 1 loss even though it felt like 5. Porcello just lost his composure on the mound and it hurt him, Adam Wilk had to take one for the team and gutted out 4 innings of relief.
Atleast the offense never gave up, Magglio had a few hits, Peralta hit a grand slam, Miggy had 3 hits himself.
And yes, as I thought Avila playing 3rd base was a trainwreck, although maybe 2 balls went to him the entire night. He didnt look comfortable at all, but I have the feeling he's going out there tonight again at 3rd

Cabrera & Boesch hit back-to-back homers, Avila had a nice game, Kelly had a nice game and just a solid all around game. Off to LA. Penny vs Kershaw..
