I wouldnt say a "flop" instead it is probably best for it to be broken in case fashion.

People have to look at it this way, card companies need to make money, plain and simple. If there weren't any flop boxes these days then the companies wouldn't be making money and we would have no boxes to break.

However, SPGU does seem to be more of a risk/reward type of deal.

But you get what you paid for; jerseys. The words "game-used" tell the buyer that they are most likely to get relics. If you want autos, you broke the wrong box.

I agree, Trilogy was one of my favorites, but lots complained about lack of value. OPC Premier was very nice, and BAP had loyal fans, bring those back too. Problem with Black was the rookies, few were interested in the Lettermans, and two per box, leaving only two others, that was what killed it. A shame cause the two other syou got in each box was in par with the Cup, and sexy looking! If they could re-think the rookies and re-start Black they would get a hit.

Not everyone has 1000s of dollars to spend on a case. SPGU has to be the biggest rip off in terms of box and pack value. I mean come on, $40 for a jersey card of Ales Hemsky? That just doesn't cut it. Either UD needs to lower their price point on products such as this or get better players.

Not necessarily. I rather pull a jersey of Trevor Linden or a Winnipeg guy than of Malkin. But this is rather easy to find out, UD should do some research.

To expand on a point someone made earlier, I also collect not for the money I could make on the cards I pull, but for the nice patch swatches and pc guys I collect. I am also one of those collectors that will follow a player I pull during the season be it in football, hockey or baseball. That's where the joy in collecting is and perhaps if more people thought like me, they wouldn't be so bitter about products such as SPGU. Plus the people spending lots of money on this product have the money to spend, so they really shouldn't be complaining in the first place right?

Not really, I'm kind of obsesses with opening boxes and save up all the time for it. It's sweaty and sometimes I buy when I shouldn't (moneywise). I'm disabled on disability money so I wouldn't say I got tons of cash laying around. So yeah when I save up for a $180 box and get $20 back out of it I'm kindof p'ssed cause it means I have to wait that much longer till the next box. Of course I'm stupid to buy a spgu box though, one of the "worst" in that matter.

That's where the question comes around, is it more beneficial to bust a couple of lower end boxes or get 1 higher end box? I've always noticed that there is more value in something lower end like ud1 or 2, but there is more thrill in busting a higher end product. This is actually why I all but switched from busting hockey wax to football and now baseball. There just seems to be nicer stuff in the other sports and rarely do I feel ripped off.

Agree with chalkae I also bust football wax and for investment wise I rarely also feel ripped off too. Plus the football market fluctuates a lot more or performance then hockey. I don't bust other sports though the whole baseball rookie thing throws me off. As for spgu I haven't touched it since I started collecting in 05/06 that year I busted quite a few boxes man was I young and naive

literally the worst product for your money i've ever seen. $180 for a box of what...5 jersey's worth $1 each and an auto which might also be $5.

you could hope for an RNH auto rookie /99 and that'll get you your money back NOW, but that's it. anything else, and you lose not just a little money but almost all of it. it's a joke. and in 3 months when no one cares about spgu anymore, the RNH will be worth $120.

WORST PRODUCT EVER. i saw a box break and the guy got 6 jersey cards, all reg versions. no auto in the box. that was his only hits...6 jerseys.

who buys this stuff, i mean come on. you're hoping for a 1/1000 chance probably that you'll hit an RNH just to get your money back, and that's if you hit it with one box.

i have nothing more to say, hahaha. just awful

I haven't busted any yet this year, but every other year I either broke even or doubled my money...so i guess i am of the small majority who feels this is still a great product.
I will say though... some of the designs this release are fugly
