Best Card you ever lost?
Hey all! I'd like to know what was the best card you ever lost. Whether it was lost in your house, at the card shop, in the toilet, you name it!
I am posting this because I lose cards all the time. Most of them I find, because I walk around the house looking at them, but some mysteriously dissappear. I was hitting myself the other day when I lost my spx jorge cantu jersey card #'ed to 199 (big rays fan).
Also the main reason for this post was today I lost a retail pack of bowman chrome football... and this time I think it's lost for good. Well, here's the story.
Our school was having standardized testing for most of the day. I am in eleventh grade therefore I don't have to take the test. We were supposed to go to homeroom for the day. Well, I didn't like the idea of sitting down all day so my friends and I decided to go downtown.
Our first stop was Wal Mart Supercenter. There my gracious friend bought me a retail pack of bowman chrome (asked if I wanted anything, and I couldn't deny). The cards weren't that great, but I liked the look.
Well, I think when getting off of the bus at the end of the day (went back to school for last two classes, which were the only ones they were having besides homeroom) I think the pack fell out of my hoody. That teaches me to never ditch again. Not really though, more like to keep my cards more secure.
NOTE: I don't ditch school regularly. This was a homeroom class where attendance isn't even counted (supposedly it is)...
Well, I hate to go on and on, but what was the best card you ever lost?

I lost a 1955 double die penny, not a card but very valuable. I didn't realize it was worth anything until after I lost it though :-(.

I think my best card stolen was a SPx Delonte West Auto/Jersey RC.
Well I had just sold the Delonte West on ebay. During the weekend I had a family get together dinner and a whole bunch kids over along lead by my 8 year old brother. So on sunday I went to look for the card to pack it up and get it ready to ship. While searching I also found about 15 other cards missing. My favorite card which was a Sp Authentic Kobe Bryant Auto SP (my best pull out of a pack to date!) This kobe was immaculate and was in perfect shape. This card was at least a 9.5 and I was going to grade it too. Well after investigating I found out my younger brother had taken his friends in my room and let them have dibs on my cards. This made me even more mad.
Well I had to email the buyer about my situation and told him I'll send him a Delonte West # RC for not having the card anymore.
Well now I'm missing about 15+ RC,Inserts, GU, Auto and especially my kobe! I started to call all the parents of the kids that my brother said he gave the cards too. First house I was able to recover some and the cards were still in the shape they were in except the toploaders were all sticky lol. Still no kobe! Boy was I bummed! Well I called the second house and talked to the father. He asked the kids and found out they did have some of the cards and for me to drop by and look at them. I was still so bummed out that I had no faith of getting my kobe back and if I did it was probably all creased up. The next day after work I dropped by the house and there was a nice stack of cards put in a ziploc bag ready for me. I took it and left, and in the car I looked thru it. The first card was a jameer nelson GU rc and boy was it tore up! Corners were dinged and mostly the white jersey was dirty! lol As I searched through to the last card, there it was my Kobe! The toploader was so dirty and sticky I hoped it wasnt on the card also. The card was out of its sleeve and just in the toploader. I took it out and inspect it and sure it wasnt the same. There was as small scratch on the corner. Wow I couldnt believe it that it was still in decent shape. Boy was I glad I got it back. I was going to give up collecting too since that was my best card. To this day I still dont know where the delonte west auto/jersey rc is.
thats my story. sorry if it was long

I didn't lose my cards. But I had a bunch of O-Pee-Chee 1991-92 cards. Turns out they're worth a pretty penny today. But don't worry, I didn't lose them!
See, I stapled the cards together to make sure I wouldn't lose them. I was smart back then.
