My point is how is there room for compromise when it's a done deal?
How is this not flipping the chess board?

I don't blame the repubs on this. This bill was passed by lies and bribes. There should be no place for that. It should be thrown out and done correctly. It even went to the Supreme Court on a lie. First it wasn't a tax, then it was. Why can they change the playing field. One size fits all gov't mandated healthcare is garbage and should be tossed out. At least one side is appearing to stand for something. Finally.

The 2010 election gave control to Republicans as a response to Obamacare. They control the purse strings. The Democrats had a chance to keep the government running by delaying the Individual Mandate for one year, but refused. (Funny how they had no problem giving corporations a break by delaying the Employer Mandate.)
It's a crappy law that isn't ready for implementation yet they expect conservatives to stand by and just let them do what they want. (Which is probably the right strategy for them because the Republicans are going to take a beating the longer this goes on.)

Sure. I don't see why you have your panties all twisted up anyway. I was being nice to you. All I did was clarify that it isn't Constitutional law and suddenly the lib brigade gets all twisted up in trying to prove that it is.

Yes but this has all been done already. As John Stewart put it:
The New York Giants lost 31-7 to the Kansas City Chiefs. You know what the Giants didn't say? They didn't say 'give us 25 or more points by midnight Monday or we shut down the NFL
These decisions have literally been done by the book and passed through every hoop. Regardless of who's sitting where, this should not be an issue. It literally makes no sense. The Republicans are flipping the chess board because the only other option is to admit they lost 3 years ago and they'd look foolish if they admitted that. They're holding the country hostage and playing the hero for doing it. It's ridiculous, though fun to watch from the outside.
That bolded word is all that matters. It's a law. It passed the Supreme Court. You're flipping the board and calling it a tie. There is nothing to compromise on. Learn to lose.

Because that was the half of my post that was NOT the point, but you glommed on to my word choice instead of what I said. In other words, you argued semantics.

True, sadly the left will run more commercials with Repubs pushing granny off the cliff and the general low info voter will probably buy it next election cycle. We are finally at the point where we let the bottom dictate to the rest of us. Sad day in the US.

America is supposed to be dictated by the bottom; the people.

The law that was passed in 2009 is much different than what we have today. Is there any way that this law would pass Congress if they voted on it today? Absolutely not. The Democrats insisted on keeping the "stupid" medical device tax. They let corporations slide on their mandate but refused on individuals. It's going to cost almost twice as much over 10 years as when they passed the law. It has missed numerous deadlines and is not ready to roll-out. Is refusing to fund this mess really so unreasonable?

You can draw pictures point that fact out, but he still won't understand it. I said this fact multiple times, and all I get is a blind eye and crickets.
