Another OT game. Man, what a series. We'll get back to business on Sunday!

lol at the kadri comment is all i have to say about that. the specialty teams won the game for the caps and their pk was out of this world and the leafs couldn't get set up. my two cents on the kadri hit were that it was 100% clean and if it was against any other player on the Caps, no penalty would have been called. enough said.
at this point it is a pick 'em series and i like the effort the leafs showed in game 5 after a slow start to game 4 and they recovered from their brain farts as well. i expect kadri to show up big time in the next two games as he has all year and really show the kind of player that he has become.

I totally agree with the Kadri hit, there was nothing wrong with that hit & like you said, any other player than Ovechkin it wouldnt even be a penalty. Still, i am impressed with how the Leafs stepped up in this series. I am hoping we can win the next game & take this series to 7 games but that was a very deflating loss last night, im hoping they can bounce back..

All I have to say is if that ever happened to Matthews or Marner you guys would be singing a different tune. There is no way a guy who leads with the knee and he gets Ovechkins knee first. That is not clean.

For the record I'm a Leafs fan and I thought the Kadri hit was dirty. My argument here being, have you ever seen Kadri attempt a hip check on anyone? As I have watched hundreds of Leafs games and never seen a hip check as part of his repertoire.
It was pretty clear he was going for the low bridge shot, similar to what Brad Marchand has become famous for.

The only hockey guy i seen that said that might have been a dirty hit was Kypreos, all the rest say it was a clean hit but i guess when you know more than guys like Cherry, McLean & the other guys you can call it a dirty hit. Those guys have forgot more about hockey than any of us will ever know but you can think your right if you want..
The only reason his knee was hit was because he tried to jump out of the way at the last second. If he took the hit like a man probably nothing happens to him. Ovechkin took a good healthy run at Gardiner that should have been a charge but i guess only he can play dirty..Last edited by jameslacarte; 04-22-2017 at 11:02 PM.

led with his knee??? i beg to differ. if you look at dirty knee on knee hits throughout league history, kadri's hit was clearly not one as he led with his hip/butt. sticking out your leg/knee requires an entirely different motion and angle than leading with your hip does and kadri's body is turned in such a way that leading with his knee is impossible. plus knee on knee hits typically take place in the middle/open ice and kadri's hit was off to the side, near the boards. i think people are just quick to look down on kadri b/c of his past, but he has really cleaned up his game and his only intent in hitting ovi was to stir up his team and gain some momentum. plus his penalty led to a goal and the entire caps team was after him the whole game. i think kadri learned whatever lesson there was to learn from his hit and will continue playing the same style of game that has made him one of better two way forwards in the game.
