I didnt say he was as good as them as ever, hes obviously a step below. I wouldnt ever put him in the same sentence as Favre (even though he sucks now) Elway, Marino, etc.

Thats why THEY had such great numbers, Rice opened things up for them.

And you're right, Smith had a great O-Line, and Moose Johnston. Smith goes on and on talking about how alot of his success is because of Moose. But he didnt have Moose or that great O-line his entire career. The O-Line he had when he broke the record was pretty "iffy".

Rice, Montana, and Young are three of the greatest players of all time, along with Aikman, Smith, and Irvin. Its all a matter of people's point of view who was better, or who was overrated. I guess the only reason I said they were overrated was because you still hear about them, and you dont ever hear about the dynasty of the Cowboys. Emmitt Smith broke Walter Paytons record and you still hear more about him than Smith. People keep saying Aikman and Irvin dont belong in the HOF, because their numbers arent as good as others. But if you have someone like Smith (and the O-line and Mosse) why not use it. If Rice, Montana, and Young arent overrated, then the Aikman, Smith, and Irvin are underrated. Well, maybe not Smith so much. Maybe im just being a homer here.

And i'm not taking anything away from either 49'ers team. I watched the team with Young and have tons of respect for them. Didnt get to see Montana though, but still have respect for him. I just feel the big three from the Cowboys deserve just as much (not more, just as much) as those three from San Fran.

ricky watters is in the top 20 ALL TIME in every major catagory (and did it in 10 years)...averaged the same 4.2 yards/carry as emmitt!! the stats i posted were just what were relevant to the 9ers and jerry rice....he continued to play very well with philly and seattle....garrison hearst is like 35th all time in rushing yards, but lost a few years with some very bad injuries
