11/12/03 update: UCLA wins over EA Sports All-stars in exhibition basketball, something like 77-69
Ben Howland gets off to a great start, as the Bruins lost to this team last year -- and got BLOWN OUT in the process
I wasn't able to see the game; but liked what I read in the papters and heard in the news

11/15/03 update: Oregon dominates UCLA, 31-14
yikes!! looks like we'll be lucky to get a bowl bid!!
UCLA gave up 31 points in the 1st half, no points in 2nd half
but the inept UCLA offense did absolutely NOTHING (the 65-yard drive at the end of the game that resulted in a TD from Olson to Smith meant nothing)....just 2 pathetic FG
UCLA again gave up a return for a TD on special teams
and now, after being 4-0 in Pac-10, we lose to Stanford, Wash St. and now Oregon
Guess who's next?
#2 ranked Trojans!!
we're gonna shock the world next Saturday!!
UCLA will be at least a 17-20 point underdog, but if I were gambling, I'd take UCLA and the point spread!!

UCLA Basketball - 11/19/03 update
UCLA beats wins their second exhibition game, this time against S. CA All Stars (made up of college athletes who were good in college but just couldn't make it in NBA)
Last year, UCLA got blown to bits by these teams...but this year, we beat EA Sports in our first game, and last night, won 95-59
now, it's only exhibition, and it was against a bunch of wannabes college players --- nothing to get overly excited about.
but it's better to win than get blown to bits like we did last year.
first game of regular season is against Vermont 10 days from now
Ben Howland doing a good job coaching

USC/UCLA
after watching the Trojans score on their first 2 possession, as easy as you can possibly score.
and seeing the Trojans unable to move the ball in their first 2 possessions...
I am now taping the game (in case a miracle occurs), and have stopped watching, leaving my buddies to watch downstairs while i pass away time with a Heinekein while on the Internet.
boy, it just seems like Leinart could throw lob passes all day to Mike Williams for TDs

21-0 USC. It appears that UCLA has forgotten how to play defense. They should just let Williams stand in the end zone by himself and see if Leinhart can throw the ball far enough to get it to him.
