Personally I think it's amazing I could send a 99 gram oversized envelope across the country for only $2

The Canada Post 72 hour strike notice was issued earlier today and they are now in a position to strike on Friday if nothing changes in the negotiations.

Yup. Looks like a strike is going to happen - but they still have a few days to resolve things. Let's hope they do.

Over a year since talks started on a new deal, I can imagine patience is wearing thin on all sides.

Not looking good as Canada Post has now issued the corresponding lock-out notice. I guess we will find out come Friday morning.

It's my understanding that its a rotating strike, and they expect it to last at least a week

I don't think it's been made clear whether this is a full-blown strike or a rotating strike. Neither side has really clarified that.

If it a full-blown strike though, I wonder how long it will be before the government steps in and legislates them back?

Either way, I imagine trading on this site will probably grind to a halt for the duration of the strike.
