It's the reciprocal tarrifs levied by the Canadian government that are costing me. So, they'd have to remove them. Plus, the American tarrifs will actually stay in place for the time being as the decision by courts is being appealed, as expected. All I know is this is such a mess and I'm looking forward to this getting settled. Oh, and if Canada Post and the union can work things out, that would be great, too.Last edited by subban7677; 05-29-2025 at 05:39 PM.

Canada's removal of most tariffs across the board is effective as of today. Under the list of tariffed items the section for trading cards has come off the list (like most everything else, not steel, aluminum, or certain car parts).
Does anybody think the additional 30% COMC added to their orders will be removed, or is it just the cost of doing business now?
The Governments website of tariffs on products coming from the US is here: Complete list of U.S. products subject to counter tariffs - Canada.ca
If you enter the Harmonized system code 4911.91.00 in the box you can see the rate as of August 31, and change to effective as of September 1, and see the item removed from the list. You will have to enter the item on both tabs.

Thanks for this @mikecole141 - I've got an email out to COMC (see the other big COMC post on the front page here) asking what the intention is going forward, and still haven't heard anything. Hoping that we see changes on their site in the next couple days.
Assuming that comes off, that's a 30% savings right away, which would be really nice. I'm still not enamoured with the per-item fees they charge--I think it should be capped at $20/order, but hey that's leaving a lot of money on the table if someone is cashing out their PWHL collection. LOL

Has nothing to do with the cost of business now just more of some businesses being incredibly greedy. I like COMC but it is clear that they have been hurting since covid and they never really fully recovered. They were way late in opening up (95% of the country was open and they were held back by where they were located) and once they were up and running instead of hiring more workers they just delayed everything (like PSA and others did).
So they are either being cheap and greedy or they are hurting for money and actually need to squeeze out Canada to stay afloat which sounds ridiculous to me seeing as how the card market is the hottest it has been in decades. So if you can't cut it now how are you going to survive another hobby lull?Selling all my cards here updated as of July------------> Hidden Content

Got a response from COMC this morning - rather vague and non-committal. LOL
Please keep an eye on our blog at www.blog.comc.com for any announcements regarding shipping cost updates. You can also bookmark our Help Center for the Canadian Shipping FAQ's as well. You can find that here: https://comc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/se...onal-Shipments

That is definitely vague LOL. Hopefully, they put out some good news for the folks out there who would like to get some card shipped.
