A question for a person that dosen't follow football at all(it just dosen't interest me to watch it, its always play 2 sec, stop, play 2 sec, stop and it annoy me but its personal opinion of course) But even as a guy that dosen't watch it i heard from sports center etc that this team have a perfect season. My question is ...why a season in the NFL is only 16 match? Are you kiddin me...NHL season are 82 matchs... Also in Football the final match of the playoff is not even disputed always in one of the teams hometown, i think its all decided at the beginning of the season where its gonna be. Also correct me if im wrong, playoff are like only 1 match and you move on, so this mean if you have a bad match(something that happen a lot in NHL) your done...
I don't want to offend football or its fan of course, im just curious as a big hockey fan how much a sport can have such a huge fanbase with only 16 match for a season... Man...there 82 match in hockey and i think its not enought...lol i would like to watch hockey everyday of the week instead of 3 time per week(normally)

ok destro with football you have to play once a week because it takes that long for the body to heal after the pounding these guys take also they have to institute a gameplan for each game which takes preparation and the reason the super bowl is played at a neutral site is so that no team has an advantage afterall they are the 2 best teams in their conferences, and about there only being one game that,s just the way it is if you want to advance come with your a game, hope this explains it somewhat take care steve

I see. Altought its true football is very physic, its not like you don't get banged in a hockey game, but its true its not as much. But even with 1 game a week its still only 4 month long, wich is i think very little.
Altought i understand the first part, for the superbowl being in a neutral territory, i really don't get it, i mean, its fabulous to win the stanley cup in your hometown in front of your suporters, they go crazy and the post celebration on the ice and so...Of course its not sure it will happen, as they go 2 at home, 2 away, then 1 home , 1 away, it can happen on the oposite team too. But of course since its only 1 match...i guest it make more sense, but that part too is hard for me, i think they could at least go with a 2 of 3 ...
But anyway you answered my questions, thank you.

I'm a fan of both sports, but the physical part of each is different. In hockey, players take checks (some are pretty BIG checks, but still are only checks.) In football, players are hit and tackled, dragged to the ground, etc. A really hard check in hockey would be the equivelant of a block in football.
Take a look at the hit Randy Moss took in the game last night in the first quarter. He got laid out, and technically, he wasn't even part of the play. If a hit like that had happened in a hockey game, it would be on all the highlights for weeks. In the NFL, it's routine.

First of all MERRY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!
Bear- Awesome post...nothing more needs to be said.
But I don't understand a few things:
Spending money like the Yankees?? Ever hear of the salary cap?? WOW!!!
so the pats have to resort to poking people in the eyes, good sign of ture champs....pathetic
Yeah man that won the game for them...big resort that was. He was rubbing his eye, pretending to wipe away a "tear" from that dude crying. Dumb move, yes very poor choice, I don't condone it, cheap shot it was, call it what you will, BUT, he was NOT poking his eye, get your facts straight dude.
Lastly, why all the hate for the fans, and their "big heads"?? Should we not be happy?? Should we not celebrate?? I never said "order thing rings now" did I. I think they can run the table, it won't be an easy road, but the Pats haven't lost a playoff game at home in like the last 29 games (pretty good odds)
Also, somebody just for laughs google the Patriots and their history here, I'll do it nowhttp://www.jt-sw.com/football/pro/te...ories/patriots.....it's pretty bad ladies and gentleman. I'm only 32, but in all those years of watching since I was about 4 or 5, I've seen some truly ugly seasons. 1-15, 2-14 a couple years. I realize it's been a good run the last 7 years, but the Patriots nation has endured it's fair share of tough times. Give us a little slack, I know any consistant champion is hated, but it won't last forever, so let us enjoy the ride, I know you would if it was your team.
Have a safe New Years everyone, god bless, and heres to 2008!!
