Report: Kobe to be named MVP

Some sources say. I don't have any info at this time. Just heard it on ESPN.

He deserves it, but I think Chris Paul did more for his team.

    Report: Kobe wins MVP award

Kobe Bryant has been selected the NBA's most valuable player for the first time in his 12-year career, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

The newspaper cited sources familiar with the outcome who were not authorized to speak publicly about the award until the official announcement next week.

"We have not been told anything by the league," Lakers spokesman John Black told The Associated Press.
Bryant, 29, has won three championships with the Los Angeles Lakers and is widely regarded as the league's premier talent. But he had never come close to winning an MVP before this season — he was third in voting last year, his highest finish.

Bryant averaged 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists in the regular season. More importantly, he led the Lakers to a 57-25 record and the top seed in the rugged Western Conference.
The award figured to go to either Bryant, New Orleans point guard Chris Paul or Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett.

Not too surprising, except that they left Lebron off the list of most likely receipients.....and thoughts/opinions?

    finally

as for cp3, excellent performance, but kobe outdid him
cp3 had an all-star in david west all season

kobe's only all-star came after the break and he still got 57 wins. kobe was carrying the lakers before that.

Eventually Kobe had to win a MVP. But maybe it will curse them now as how last year after Dirk was named MVP his Mavs were ousted in the first round!

Paul had one heck of a season though, and he is only gonna get better!

It was finally his year. A player like Kobe had to win an MVP eventually.

why would lebron get it? its the person who makes there team the best. mvp (most valuable player) most valuable to the players team, thats why chris paul shouldve won it, the hornets would be lost without paul but with gasol and bynum being on the team it shoulde given paul the advantage. but i still LOVE the fact kobe won. end point, lebron makes his team worse in my opinion
