I knew someone is going to bring that up when this discussion began...
Yes, it is true Kobe criticized the management etc for not trying to make the team better. And before Gasol trade, they havent made any big trades or anything to make the team better right away.
When you have a centerpiece of a team, you bring in other guys either through FA or trades to make the team a championship contender. Lakers havent done any of that but wait on the young guys to develop. And yes, its good thing they developed into a great role players now but up until this season, they have not contributed much.
Lakers have brought in Odom (real disappointment until this season), gave up Caron Butler (who became an all star) for Kwame Brown (real bust). And guys like Smush Parker and Chucky Atkins.

who cares?
this isn't the sportsmanship award
this is the mvp. the W column matters. what you do off the court doesnt.

just a thought, Ive never really heard Lebron being a crybaby till Wizards series this year... maybe I just didnt pay too much attention to him lol
Anyway, watching the series this year, I think the reason people call him a crybaby is because of his expressions after he get hit or get a foul.
But he is a great NBA player so he should be able to get through whenever he getsa hard fouls in a game.
I mean this is after the elimination of hand-checking by defensive players in the 90s...
I think this is the reason Jordan is the greatest player in the world :)

sure the lakers improved when they got gasol, but they were already a top seed before they got gasol and before bynum's injury
so pretty much, kobe had a top team without an all-star, he finally gets one, and people still complain and find a reason to discredit his contributions to the lakers success. he's heard it all his life. you had shaq. now it's you have gasol. how about they poll nba players themselves? everyone says kobe is the best, period. larry bird said he would throw away one of his own mvps if kobe didn't win it.

before bynum went down, lakers were at the top, and this was WITHOUT an all-star by kobe's side.Last edited by halekulani; 05-03-2008 at 08:36 PM.

thank you!
bowlen. from what you said today...
bron hates his team
he makes his team worse
hes not a team player
he cant shoot
he sucks
he complains
he cant lead a team
c'mon man, theres a difference between not likeing a player and saying he sucks. if lebron sucks then the NBA sucks. and who on the cavs led them to the finals last year? eric snow?

side note on lebron being a "baby", some people had some funny shirts at the game last night that said "Crybaby" where the player name is on the back with the number 23. And up on the scoreboard they put up "Baby Cam" when they showed lebron. Yeah it's silly, but it was funny :)

haha, yeah, it looked like some fans just made them, like they aren't shirts you can buy. I give them props for thinking of the idea and they got on the jumbotron a lot!
