i'm sure we've all heard that, but its nothing more than an urban legend. swans also have hollow bones to help them float. i just dont see it happening nor have a i ever heard of it actually happening.
if you are that afraid of getting seriously injured by a swan maybe you should bring something to defend yourself with. even if it is just a security blanket

We got swans at the golf course I work at, and they have never attacked at all. They are just being overprotective of their young, just like any animal is, I have seen it up-close. If they're adults only, they will more than likely either avoid you or swim up to you.

i'm pretty sure it wasnt attacking you. i think it was just threatening you.. the swan s most likely more scared of you than you are of it.

i dont know, regardless, when you got a "wild" Swan "running" at you flapping those wings coming right towards you, common sense is to get away from that thing, i've been afraid of Swans though my entire life..lol

There are some geese by our practice soccer fields sometimes, and there is usually a group of babies with them. We will usually run up to the parents and mess with them, as mean as it sounds. All they do is walk around the fields, so we try to block them or trap them, and they can get mean sometimes. They will hiss at us or start running at us with their heads down and all kinds of stuff, we just stand there, he just hisses and starts charging, and when we don't move, he just stops and stands there trying to find a way around us.

yea ive had something like that but im not about to take any crap from a bird so heres how my story went. i was fishing one afternoon and i decided to change spots so i gather all my gear and start moving along when all a sudden a goose jumps out from behind some brush and starts hissing. i wasnt afraid thinking oh big deal a hissing bird so i kept going. next thing you know the darn thing charges at me and flapping its wings and such so because i didnt have any hands to spare i just wound up and kicked it in the head as hard as i could and its neck got broken and it died. no more birdie.
