Maybe because schools just don't feel that they are good enough to coach and no i'm not being racist...Look at the NFL there are 3-4 head coaches in the past couples years that are black that come to mind...and considering america is 12% black that sounds spot on 1/10 (10% of the NFL coaches are black) so that's about the population and also maybe black people don't want to get into coaching and want to relax when they retire, just a thought also.

Yes the NFL has gotten a lot better since the Rooney rule. However if you look higher up on the NFL ladder, there have only been 4-5 (I think) Black GM's in the NFL in it's history.

Also that 10% is not spot on. Who cares what the population of the United States is. A more fair comparison would be comparing the number of black coaches to the number of black NFL players. Currently 65-70% of the players in the NFL are black.

Also can you give a logical explanation to the lack of Black coaches in NCAA football?

Ok, this is getting stupid. Yes, I said it, STUPID.

When Dr. Martin Luther King said he had "a dream", this isnt what his dream was. He wanted equality to ALL races, not to give the black race an upper hand.

He also didnt want people like Chad Johnson to go around tying to think of a different "dance" or "celebration" for each TD. He didnt want someone like T.I. getting a TV show for commiting a crime. He didnt want "his people" going out saying "who dat is", or rapping about "pimpin hoes", "poppin a cap in a N-word", or bragging about their money. That wasnt the dream.

If i'm wrong about Dr. King, let me know, because I highly doubt this is what he wanted.

no, that is not what i believe...but I’m not sure a college scholarship is discriminatory either…you still have to earn it because they aren’t just giving them away…most UNCF scholarships go to inner city students to attend UNCF member colleges, which are mostly the historically black schools. It was established in 1944 so that black people in the south could school themselves since white people refused to. They can claim Martin Luther King, Jr. & Samuel L. Jackson as alumni. JFK donated the money from his Pulitzer to the fund, and some billionaire donated a crap load of money to it. Why do they have to stop it now? Because racism doesn’t exist anymore?

I want to point out the 12.4% number mentioned earlier…that actually represents 2nd place in the United States, trailing only German Ancestry at 15.2% and ahead of Irish-Americans in 3rd at 10.8%. The thing is White America is a whole group of people including German, Irish, English, Italian, Mexican, Polish, French, Dutch, Russian, etc…….resulting in a massive 76%...White America makes up 3/4 of America and roughly the same percent in colleges and universities. There are scholarships available to people for all sorts of things and ways to get funding just about everywhere (well maybe not in today’s economy). If a white person can’t find a way into school today with those kinds of numbers, it’s not the UNCF’s fault. It’s also easier for white people to get in due to legacy. Princeton has something like 12% of general applicants be admitted, while 40% of legacy applicants were admitted.

I think it’s a little ironic that in this so called ‘black belt’ in the south, black people are the majority in a land 150 years earlier their ancestors were slaves to….where only 40 years ago there was still segregation…and now suddenly everything is equal…while things may be more equal now then they have ever been, it is still far from close.

also...ensberg, i dont think you're being argumentative at all, as if thats a bad thing...the whole point is to discuss the topic, so i dont know how that came up...if everybody agreed, there'd be nothing to talk about

do you find it ironic that "whites" make up 76% of the population but are only eligible for less than half of the scholarships out there (the only information I have to go on is Texas. When I graduated high school, I was only eligible for 35% of scholarships due to the fact that I was white and a male). Due to the large percentage of minority scholarships and the easier standards, I would say if a minority can't find a way into college it is not anyones problem but there own.

The players-coaches thing in the NFL is funny to me because black people don't want to coach when they retire generally, they want to relax (which is what i'd want to do). There is none in the NCAA but maybe it's just because the coaches who are trying to get jobs just aren't that good, did you ever think about that, doubt it...

so they have to meet your standards? mlk wanted black people to be looked at as human beings, instead of the ignorant, filty, n-word creatures that they were treated as.

what's wrong with a TD celebration? I find them humorous and I wish they weren't fined or penalized for them...people can make the most violent of movies and there is no complaint, but rap music is a disgrace? just about every genre of music is vulgar to somebody's ears...no offense, but you just don't understand rap music if that's your perception, the way some people don't understand say a marilyn manson, or older folks didn't understand rock music

people aren't aloud to get money and show it off? Why do they make multi-million dollar homes, private planes & half a million dollar vehicles for then? Why can Paul Allen have a yacht with a helipad, but black people can't flaunt their money? Maybe it's the flamboyance you don't like...

    huh?

most coaches in the NFL didn't even play in the NFL....

did you ever think there was deep rooted racism in the south? it wasn't until 2004 that a black man became a head coach in the SEC...did you ever think about that? that's crazy...there's been roughly 800 coaches hired & fired since joe paterno took over penn state in 1966, and i think less than 20 of those were black men...12 black coaches hired since 1996...crazy

I don't think there is any more racism in the south as opposed to other regions.

Ill say it. Per person, there are more hate groups in the south.

I guess that depends on your definition of a hate group. That link means nothing to me anyone could have put that map together.

I agree with your first paragraph, thats exactly what I was saying.

Your second paragraph I somewhat agree with. Maybe I dont understand "rap music" because I never grew up in "the hood". I dont agree with Marilyn Manson, and I dont want his crap to represent white people. I know that some rap music is ok, but the majority is what I described it as. And also, I know that I'm guilty of listening to it. Maybe at a bar, or downloading it, or buying a CD.

I make a lot of money, and I dont show it off. Because I'm humble. I hang out with anyone that makes 6$/hour to people that make millions, and I dont really care. The whole thing about the multi-millions dollar houses, a lot of times they may do it just because they want to show it off, but most of the time they do it because they can. And I dont mind people buying houses they can afford, thats cool. Buy the biggest house you can for all I care. I just get tired of hearing about it. I get sick of people trying to show boat it. White or black.

But like I said, MLK didnt have "a dream" for black people to be portrayed as they are now. I wont back down from that argument.
