I would have to say it will be close between Mason and Wheeler. They have both played great so far this year, but I think Mason deserves it, as his stats are up there with all the superstar goalies of the NHL. But I don't wanna take anything away from the other rookies, as Wheeler, Doughty, Versteeg, Ryan, and others have looked great this year also. Its just that Mason has been the best

for those thinking wheeler is having a better year than doughty...

    Dought's stats
4-14-18 23:49 Ice time (9th on team in scoring, leads all rookies in ice time)

    Wheeler's stats
17-19-36 13:54 Ice time (6th in team scoring)

Wheeler plays 10 minutes a game less than Doughty and usually plays on the third line when everyone is healthy. He also benefits from being on the best team in the league.

The Kings lead the league in shots against and their defense is improved from near the bottom of the league last year to near the top this year. He plays more minutes than anyone on the Kings.

If the Calder goes to best stats (points), it's clearly Mason and then Wheeler. But if it goes to rookie who has made the most impact, it's Mason and then Doughty. If the Jackets falter and miss the playoffs and the Kings get in (both of which aren't super likely), Doughty has a chance.

dont count the kings out. if deano pulls his head out of his butt and starts to realize that ersberg and quick arent cutting it and that we need a big time scorer and can GET them at the deadline, then id say we make the playoffs. we also need a coach who doesnt change the like 50000000 times a game every game

    Rookies of the year

Just wondering who you all think is going to be the top 3 rookies of the year. Who do you think is the goalie of the year. Not asking who your fav players are but who you think will be the top three by the end of the year.
