Okay, guys. THIS IS A TEST PROOF! There's a difference between that and the blank backs!

There is no difference between a blank back card and your card. Dealers are telling anything to make their card more valuable than another card. Your dad bought a blank back card like many other exist.Last edited by roy.the.greatest; 04-06-2009 at 03:53 PM.

By the way, there is a dealer in Ontario (London) that was directly connected to the O-Pee-Chee manufacture in the 1980's. I can't tell you how many full uncut sheets (and blank back uncut sheets) left the backstore. Initially the full uncut sheets had no real big value, it was only cardboard.

It has "test proof" printed on the back of it.

There is a difference between the test proofs and regular blank backs. Test Proofs were pre production proofs, blank backs were produced with the regular sets but used mainly for achiving purposes(I know an ex-OPC/Topps employee that has basement full of binders of blank back sets that he accumulated throughout his tenure with the company he also had a fair stash of the Test Proofs as well but has slowly been selling them off over the years). There's still more than one Test Proof however and I'd guarantee Topps has more as well as they are known for an incredibly deep archive of stuff.

I agree with you. However, the Tests proofs cards with difference of ink printings are one thing, but here we see a blank back card. Unless the person forgot to detail something in the description of the card, the front of this card is like any other Patrick Roy OPC card, only the back is different. There is no guarantee this card was the "first card printed" (without something printed on the back) to test the production run, absolutely no certification here possible. This is why this card is like any other blank back card existing on the market.

If I take a blank back card of Patrick Roy and print the same "TEST PROOF" on the back, how would you be sure my card is or isn't a real test proof card? A sure thing, it is a blank back card, but no certification possible that it is something else. Too many O-Pee-Chee counterfeits cards on the market.

To the OP: That is a beautiful card. Don't let anyone here tell you otherwise!
