nice card to have but $10,000, wow, for that kinda of money I hope he got some kind of certification, saying its a true original test proof or plate, and how it was obtained. I've seen alot of these and wonder how many are real and fake.

and the best Roy card is the one anybody has in their pc that they won't trade/sell

Because once it's examined by professionals, they would be able to tell the difference between a new ink and an old ink. Plus, how are you going to print onto an old card without damaging it.

I've seen your posts on Beckett and here, and you seem to jump to the defense of your own collection every time a unique Roy card is brought to light. There's no point in attacking this card.

Personally, I'd like to see a better scan of the back.

Id also like proof that his dad paid 10 grand for the card. I think someones dad is trying to make it look better than it is.

Jeez, I didn't mean so much hype about it. I don't know how I could 'prove' what my dad paid. I don't know why it matters, he probably could've gotten it cheaper, but he had ALOT of money at the time, and didn't really care. I've called Beckett, and they say they don't grade test proof cards. I haven't tried PSA yet. I don't know what reason I'd have to lie to people on the internet. That doesn't seem to benefit me, or anyone. It's a cool card & I'm glad I own it.

Beckett will grade the card as any other card. But, as anybody in the hobby, Beckett CANNOT certified the card to be "Test Proof" because nobody can certify it, nobody knows in 2009 the real origin of the card you have in your hands. The only thing we know by looking the card is this card is a blank back card.

It is not a question of lie or not. When we check the card, we cannot say your card is a Test Proof card without a certification from O-Pee-Chee. The card was produced by O-Pee-Chee in 1986-87, so you need a certification from the manufacturer (O-Pee-Chee) of the card. Actually, it is a blank back card like many hundreds/thousands exist: that's the only certitude.

Money isn't everything I remeber trading anything I could for these when I was a kid. I love this card and filled pages in my binder with them. I'll still trade for them :)
