For one year, Shaq is still better than 80 percent of the centers in the league, if they dont have to give up a lot, its worth a shot

Your kidding right? The Cavs only need him for one year. They want and need a Championship now. If they win one in Shaqs one and only year in Cleveland, Lebron will more than likely stay, the 46 year Clevleand Championship drought will have been broken, and at the end of the season when they don't resign Shaq, they have a ton of money to use towards keeping Lebron and possibly signing another star player in the big 2010 FA Summer. Sure, young talent is important, but the main goal is to keep Lebron and to just one win freaking Championship.

You know, the more I think about it, why on earth would the Suns go through with this trade? They're able to get much greater value then what Cleveland is offering, I mean what team wouldn't like to have $21 million go off the books after next season?

I like it. I think Shaq would have to pair w/a real superstar to win another one too and this would work for next year. The only other places I would like to see him go is to L.A. or back to Orlando but that wouldn't happen b/c of Howard and Bynum.

It would be very interesting to me if Shaq helps Kobe get his first ring, then DWade, and then LeBron lol.
This would kinda suck for me though, because I love LSU Basketball players, but can't stand the Cavs. I would be nice to see Shaq vs Big Baby more often though haha.

At the time it would have been a bad move....no need to mess up the great chemistry that they had. But adding him in the OFFSEASON when they'll have a ton of time to work on things before him being thrown into games makes sense.
I still stand by my initial statement that Shaq at the trade deadline wouldn't have been a good deal.
