Ever since I saw my uncle's small stack of cards (dad's side) I wanted to get back into it.
When I was really little (4-5y/o) my uncle (mom's side) always brought me to the card store right next to our house.

One of my two older brothers. They both used to collect in the 80's-mid 90's, but my oldest brother grew out of it I guess. The brother who got me into it took a hiatus after '95 or so, until '06. Don't really know the reason why he got back into cards, but he pulled me in and we haven't looked back since.

Haha thats pretty cool, it was only me in my family collecting, then my younger brother went to the card shop and pulled a patch out of 1 pack..then my older brother found A&G and my whole family (even my mom) has participated in building the set.

i got into collecting when i was a kid, my neighbor collected baseball cards and whenever I was over at his house, he would give me some cards... just instantly fell in love with it I guess

My dad also got me into collecting. In early 1992, when I was seven, he got me a pack of 1991 Score football cards (the NES Tecmo Super Bowl video game developed my interest in the sport). I am not sure if he ever collected or not, but he thought I would like the cards, and the interest hasn't waned, obviously. :) (I just focus on basketball now instead of football.)

I guess I'd have to say my mom, as she would pick up ziploc bags full of cards from a store where we used to live - it was like a giant garage sale - and the cards were all older baseball base (late 80s mainly), and they just stayed in a shoebox until I was 13 or so, and I dug them out and really got into it when a local card shop sold baseball/football packs from the late 80s/early 90s for $.50 each - I bought alot of those, and it just evolved from there I guess...now I'm 20, and am more into it now than I have ever been!

As for parents, no, neither collect, but my mom shares stories of putting vintage cards in the bicycle spokes, from when she was a kid...can't believe it, cuz I'm sure there were Mantle's and Aaron's, etc, that were just destroyed! I cringe whenever I hear those stories...lol

Haha yeah, my neighbors dad said he found a ripped in half mantle rc on a sidewalk one day..
