Yes. My dad tells me these same stories. I got into collecting when I was 11. I don't remember anyone getting me into it. I just liked sports so I decided to do this.

When my parents found out that they where having a boy my dad went out and bought a 1988 Fleer baseball complete set for me when I was younger. When I was about 3 he gave it to me for christmas and ever since then I have been collecting. My Dad doesnt really collect himself but always enjoys opening a pack or 2.

Funny story... I read that article and saw the picture of you, and later I read about you being like 10 feet tall or something. All I was thinking is the kid in that picture looks so small for how tall he says he is.

My little sister actually got me into it!
She got some cards from someone in her 3rd grade class for a christmas party. The cards were all super low end and base. She had no use so she gave them to me. I remember taking them everywhere. Then my dad bought me an 06 topps retail pack pretty much everywhere we went. I never even knew that you can pull other stuff than base. Then i found out about jersey cards and bought a ton of 06 ud packs from target and pulled my first jersey card, a 2006 UD Jason Bay. Then i found out this card shop by me and have gone there ever since.
My dad used to collect, he is 50. He has a ton of 1971 topps and a couple of 1969.
Today at the LCS, i let him pick me 2 packs of legendary cuts for the first time and he picked me 2 packs with jersey cards!

step dad got me into when he met my mom. He still collects vintage and SP legendary cuts and Clementes- he only needs the 63 topps and 63 fleer. If anyone has those in any condition, I am interested in them. Thanks
