Who knows what'll happen.
If they can resign Hedo, Orlando has a good chance.
I'm just wondering when the Rockets will upgrade, cause you know.... we got a 21 million expiring contract called T-Mac.
We did pretty well against the Lakers without him.

Thinking about this some more...I don't think this is a good trade for the Magic. This won't be enough to propel them back into the Finals. They lose Alston, Lee, and probably Hedo. You want role players to surround your superstar; not more players that will command the ball.

This will help their starting line-up, but they are going to lose some depth, which might hurt them.

So it's official, pending league approval?
This deal is in response to a few things - 1) they lost to the Lakers in the finals...2) the Cavs upgraded by adding Shaq...3) to a lesser extent, the Spurs acquisiton of Richard Jefferson...only reason it's to a lesser extent is because they will only play the Spurs twice this season unless they both make the finals.
Boston now has "pressure" to "improve" their roster with the other 2 big teams in the East making significant moves.

But, they will get back Jameer Nelson as their starter, so that will play in their favor - the only reason they traded for Alston was because of Nelson's injury - I don't think they seriously thought they'd keep him.

There is no pressure.
Every big trade always has a chance to blow up a team.
And plus, Boston has always been trying to trade this off season. (Specifically Rondo)

Yeah, but they've been unsuccessful in reaching a deal - I'm just wondering if these trades light the fire under the trade-trigger finger, and they make a move now. I hope not, as I think the Celtics have another legitimate title run in them, but I have a feeling they will make a deal...can't deny how much they are trying to trade Rondo.

Stat wise hedo and Carter are almost the same carter scored more hedo had a few more asts, so we will see if this works out I think it will. if they get hedo back awesome if not carter will do just fine.
As for depth Battie hardly ever played he would play a few mins in the playoffs then not play two in a row so no biggie there, plus Ryan Anderson will take his place
Alston is no big loss with Jammer coming back and AJ as his back up
Lee I'll miss but with pietrus(SP?) back full at strength I'm not sure he would even be a starter
In my eyes this is a good trade, If I were the Magic I would use Hedos money to resign Gortat.
