No because Vince Carter is way past his prime and the nets save about 40 million dollars on this deal plus they get a up and coming star in Courtney Lee...

here are stats form the 08-09 season
Carter 20 PPG 4 APG 4 RPG
Lee 8 PPG 1 APG 2 RPG
but if you really think Lee would help the Nets more then Vince thats fine I just dont think so, I loved Lee in Orlando sad to see him go but hes more the Bruce Bowen type if you ask me. Vince is an 8 time all star correct? I just dont see Lee being a 8 time all star... I will say Vince is a little older being 32 but Hedo was 30 not that far behind, Also a side not people say the cavs are better with shaq well hes 37 5 years older then Vince so the too old stuff does not mean anything..

Nets got robbed if you look at by talent wise.
Lee's best case scenario is going to be border-line all-star IMO....
Again, New Jersey purely did this for salary cap reasons. But unlike being stupid like the Bucks, they actually got a young talent in Lee.

Magic didn't get a good deal here, IMO. Strictly off the fact they now can't be a player in the 2010 sweepstakes, and they can't resign Hedo.
Hedo has wayyyyyyy more upside than Vince Carter does.

Man, the Nets really want me to be a fan...trading my least favorite player, getting my favorite, drafting the guy I liked the most...I see your plan, Nets.
