We still have the best player in the game, we still have the best 2-man combo in the game with Pau and Kobe, and now we have one of the best perimeter defenders in the game with Artest. We'll be fine without Odom, but getting to the Finals and winning another Championship will just be a lot easier with him.
Besides though, I still expect Odom to be a Laker, I mean he really has no other option, but getting a deal done is just gonna last a long time.
Basically what I'm saying - it's not like they'll have no chance with Odom - their chances will just go down because of no Odom (if that's what happens).

You work for them????? Can i get D. Wade auto please
If they are only a million off what Lamar Odom wants, i cant see why the private investors who paid for the parade won't pay to make Odom happy

Well, from what i've been reading, I don't think the 8-9 mil. a year is the problem. i think he and his agent are more focused on getting a long term 5 year deal. Which would be kinda risky for the Lakers.

Update: Well, it looks like the Lakers have taken there offer of 27 mil. for 3 years off the table.
I don't know if Buss is just playing hard ball, or if the Lakers are getting close to a sign and trade deal.

He's probably playing hardball, because he thinks that since he got Artest for cheap, he can get Odom for cheap, and still have money left over for someone else....

I just find it so funny though, I mean every summer it seems like we wanted Lamar to be traded. But every summer, Mitch and the rest of the Lakers managment have stayed loyal and always gave Lamar another chance.
And NOW, that we finally want Lamar to stay, he turns his back on us. Such a shame.....

Update: The Lakers were reported to have actually offered Odom 2 other contracts. One for 3 yrs. $30 mil, and the other for 4 yrs. 36 mil. He and his agent rejected both of them.
Here's the espn article about the previous contract: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4328376
Lamar Odumb = Idiot
He better pray the Jazz match the Blazers offer for Millsap, otherwise he's going to be begging to be a Laker. In the mean time, the Lakers should now do a sign and trade. I'm tired of Lamar's BS.Last edited by jeebus86; 07-15-2009 at 02:42 AM.
