I'm sorry but i just don't understand what the people who say Diaz won this fight were watching. I was at the fight and ALL FAVORITISM ASIDE, just because you walk forward with your hands in the air calling someone names, does not entitle you to an automatic victory. I even went back and rewatched the fight once i got home last evening and the fight was not controversial whatsoever. Condit won the fight. He landed the better, CLEANER shots, had the perfect gameplan and had Diaz confused and frustrated the entire fight.

Thank You MattyJames for telling THE TRUTH. I'm already really annoyed by all the people making arguments that Diaz should have won. Condit retired him!

then why is Condit's camp against a rematch?
    Don't be scared homie!;)

Seriously though I hate when fighters sit for long period of time, and it doesn't make sense. Right now Carlos is the champ right? That's why he has that belt around him no? He should fight someone in june before GSP. If he's not doing that then that belt around his waist is the most expensive paper weight I have seen.

If Condit waits and injures himself that's almost a year depending injury of inactivity and nothing to show for it but a mad Dana.

I couldn't agree more with this...However, That has nothing to do with whether or not Condit won THIS fight. He's had the interim belt for 2 days now. I'm sure it is a very special moment for him. He doesnt need to make that decision today. I also would prefer to see him fight before GSP but he's doing nothing wrong at the moment...

PS - Don't be surprised if you hear Ellenberger's name thrown around in this conversation if/when he beats the brakes off Sanchez next week.

I understand fully why they would not agree to a rematch right away.

    1. Fight was not close and at no point in the fight was diaz running away with it or even close to winning

    2. GSP is claiming to be back in a decent amnount of time so whay commit to a rematch with someonee you already beat.

    3. Had Diaz walked away and just said "yeah was not my fight maybe we can do it again" but no he had to throw a ™™™™™ fit and rage quit MMA. Let him climb his way back up like everyone else.

    4. Honestly, nothing about Diaz tells me the second fight would go any different so throw a new challenger in there. Why waste this new WW title by taking up the two non GSP fights with the same two guys.

For what it's worth, I watched with 2 of my friends, and all 3 of us had Condit winning the fight "running away". In most of the fights I've seen with Diaz, he traps his opponent against the cage and picks them apart with his boxing. With the exception of one brief flurry, he was not able to do that to Condit, and to me, that's just great strategy.

Congrats to Condit, and thumbs down to Diaz for being a sore loser.

I love the knocks on condit for not wanting a rematch. Before the fight cesar gracie said flat out that when diaz won, they would wait for gsp and would not be taking any fights till gsp. Condit was the one saying that if he won he would be perfectly fine fighting again before gsp. Not to mention, immediate rematches are reserved for long time champs who got upset and controversial decisions of which this fight was neither.

Ellenberger vs. Condit 2 with 5 rounds would be fun. You're right he hasn't done anything wrong yet but I swear I read somewhere Greg jackson planned to wait.

Hendricks should me in the mix too.

why would he fight the same guy he just beat easily?
