You're either going to be pleasantly surprised, or really disappointed with the price then.
$350 would make him the top selling Future Watch Auto since 05-06...... and I'd be shocked if he's suddenly outselling Stamkos & Tavers.
I can't imagine it sells for much more than $250.... probably closer to $200.... and is $150 by the fall.

you are probably correct on this. I forgot they were numbered so high at 999. I would buy one for 150 all day though.

I bolded this for a reason. May I ask why you want rookies to be given a lower print run? Are you hoping to cash in on this if it happens? I mean no offense, I am just trying to understand why you think this would be good for the hobby.
You consider 999 a high number, but I think many collectors, including myself, feel it is a good number. As someone said earlier in this thread, it is limited, but not so limited that the asking price/value is ludicrous. It gives many collectors a chance to acquire one while maintaining a decent value. Your hope of rookies being numbered lower was discussed before. I think that is an unrealistic dream.
As I said before, if rookies were limited to 100 or less copies from here on out, myself and many other folks would not be collecting them because they would be unaffordable.

I would hate to see SPA FW Autos become more limited. It is one of the few sets remaining that people can actually attempt to put together and not just simply speculate on rookies like everything else.

it is all relative I guess with the print run. 999 is really not that many just compared to spx & other sets it is more. spx is /249 & /499. showcase is /375 or so.

Which is why I avoid those other sets and stick to SP Authentic. As g-force said, it provides the best opportunity to acquire rookie cards of the players I like.
I trade for SPx autographed jersey rookies, yes, but they are trade bait for me. I have a few of those from different years if you want them. Just send me a PM and we can set up something.
Back to the original point of this post: Cards with extremely limited print runs just do not interest me. I am going insane waiting for this year's SP Authentic set to be released!!

You know what else is awesome about SPA. All on card autograph cards. For this reason I will bust a case of it. And yes, I am also starting to go stir crazy waiting for it to drop.

Never understood the 'on-card auto' craze.
Yes, it is cool to have an autographed card of your favourite player, but ink fades over time. A sticker auto will not.
Besides, who is to say that player ACTUALLY signed it? Sure, it says on the back of the card that it was signed by player X in the presence of a card company official, or it was sent to the company by the player and the authenticity is verified by the certificate on the card.
However, given the fiasco a while back about whether jerseys used in cards being from photo shoots or were actually worn in a game, I question everything now.
I collect SP Authentic rookies because they tend to be relatively affordable and are fun to collect. The fact that many are autographed is a bonus. But I don't try to acquire a card simply because it is an 'on-card auto'. Never really was a star-watcher/celebrity freak.Last edited by Leafsman; 05-22-2014 at 06:58 PM.
