Depending on the post office, if your Oversized package is under 30 grams, they charge $1 even though it should be $1.80
I specifically tell the clerk to charge me the $1.80 solely based on 13stepper's view and I believe that other people have the same opinion.
The only time as a buyer that I have an issue with the shipping cost is when they charge for what I believe is a bubble envelope for $3+ USD and then I get a PWE envelope.
I have nothing against a properly done PWE, but at least state that it is being shipped in PWE. OR offer me a cheaper shipping rate for using PWE.

Again, when you leave feedback, one of the options on rating is:
How reasonnable were shipping and handling charges?
Is 4-5 US$ reasonnable?
not for me!

It sounds to me that the sticking point is mainly the guy got away with paying less to ship, so he got to pocket more of the money. If he had paid the $1.80, would the shipping charges have been bothersome to you? Not to say your point is wrong or unjustified or anything, but I think it's unrealistic for people to expect the seller to come back and refund you the $1 he saved by getting the lower postage rate. Would it be a nice thing for him to do? Yes. But it's never gonna happen.

Agree completely. Should they come after the buyer if shipping ends up costing more than they quoted? I've had to bite the bullet and cover the difference when shipping items out. It's my responsibility and I'd never ask for more money after the fact.
I think the sticking point here is the inability to differentiate price as a whole for an item vs. the price of everything individually.
I actually had someone complain to me, and threaten a Negative feedback because I used tape on a top loader to secure the card I sent them. It was in a bubble mailer, with a decoy for protection. The card itself was fine, it was shipped quickly and safely but now if they wanted to save the top loader they'd have to take the tape off and use a cleaning solution on it. *sigh* I simply banned them from bidding on my items again and let them know the auction was for the card. Which they agreed arrived in great condition.
I don't think there is a right or wrong answer for the shipping cost dilemma. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It's just infuriating how ebay is set up right now. I really wish we could rate buyers as we're rated as sellers. We wouldn't need a thread like this when their feedback / star ratings would do the talking for us. I miss old ebay.

Not very attractive.
What's the deal with all the magnet reprints of hockey cards on eBay?
Each time I'm thinking I'm going to get a good deal on a card, it turns out to be a magnet.

The listings clearly say that these are reprints which are "printed at a local print shop".
I wonder if they might be in danger of litigation for violating copyright laws. Clearly, they are reproducing some one else's product (logos and all). Question would be have the obtained the rights to do so by the copyright holder?Hidden Content

Can someone help?
I'm having an Ebay issue, some guy bought a Connor McDavid YG from me and I said in the description that I gaurenteed it would grade a 9.5 or a 10, well the guy that bought it said it came back graded a 8 but he refuses to show me any paperwork and demands I refund him fully, pay for the grading service and shipping from that and he also said he is going to sue me, am I in the wrong for asking him to show me the paperwork before I give him any sort of a refund and what should I do to help solve this issue, thank you.

I understood that part in the beginning but why can I not see a picture of it all now, if I could it would speed up my understand of all of this and probably solve all of this, thank you.

And, for the last time, I initially told you right off the bat that I was going to send you the Card, and the Beckett materials right back to you as they were sent to me in order to get a refund, and I wanted you to pay for the Beckett pricing and shipping since the grade came in below what you guaranteed it would. You declined. Stop emailing me. This is the second time I am asking you to stop. Three times in MA is a felony charge BTW.

All I have asked for the past three messages is proof of the grading and you can not provide it to me, that is all I want to see.

This is my last email to you because frankly you are wasting my time. There is no such thing as bully a lawsuit. I stated that I wanted you to pay for the Beckett pricing and shipping. You said no. You made a guarantee in your listing. I allege you breached the guaranty. I do not have to prove anything to you by email. It is my civil right to file a lawsuit against you for whatever I want. I made you a settlement offer, which was to refund my money. You declined. So I am filing a civil breach of contract lawsuit. You will receive a summons. Now stop bothering me or I will also take other legal action that you will not like. Stop before you get yourself in over your head.

I've never done a return and didn't know how it worked, I read up on it and like I said I'll pay for the return shipping, I need to see the invoice from Beckett or something from them, you have provided me nothing besides just trying to bully me with a lawsuit.

I tried to work with you in good faith, and you immediately said "no" you were not going to pay for the Beckett costs and shipping despite making that guaranty in your listing. That tells me that you are difficult to work with and I rather have a Federal Judge put you in your place and explain to you what it means when you make a guaranty. Plus, it will give you the opportunity to come up to Boston and enjoy our nice City, or be defaulted for not showing up, either way, I really don't care. I have one more thing to do, then it will take me all of five minutes to file a suit against you and send it to my process server. Have a nice day.

I'm trying to work with you and you are not working with me at all, if you got something from beckett then attach the picture here so I can see it, that is all I am asking.

Upload the picture of the McDavid and what it graded, I want to see the photo proof before anything happens and honestly you paid the normal price for the card ungraded, I'm sorry when you got it graded it didn't work out the way you planned but that's no reason to act the way you are about it.

You are going to refund me for the Beckett grading service and return shipping cost. This is a breach of contract claim. You made a guarantee. I am holding you to it. And before you start getting all serious on me, I just want to explain to you made that statements about the card condition not me, and I relied on your statements to make the purchase. If give me any problems, I will file a civil action in Federal Court in my jurisdiction based upon diversity of citizenship which will force you to come to my state to defend or be defaulted. If you are defaulted, I will have the default judgment sent to a sheriff in your Town and served on your to collect the money plus interests and court costs. You can either simply refund my money and be on your way, or I can open a civil case in Federal court. You have 15 minute to refund my money or I will open a civil case from my desk in 15 minutes. I am going to do that. You will receive a summons in the mail. If you do not appear in Court, I will have a summons served on you by a sheriff. When it is all said and done, I am guessing the judgment will be about $3-4k.

I'll refund you for what you paid me, I can't refund what you paid a 3rd party, I'm sorry that happened to you but I don't have the extra funds to pay for you shipping the card back to me and to pay for your beckett grading

Sure, I will send the Beckett documentation and card back to you just as I received it back from them. And you can reimburse me for the card price, Beckett costs and shipping. It was your guaranty.

I'm sorry that happened, my real question is how did you get it graded that fast? That is pretty impressive lol, can I see where it was graded then we can work out something in the ways of a return.

The buyer (stepkuch) requested a return (5022256523)
Reason for return
Doesn't match description or photos

Buyer stated in listing: I can guarantee that this will grade a 9.5 or a 10 . We had card graded by Beckett, and they only would give it an 8. Returning card for refund since Buyer guaranteed in was a 9.5 or better.

I don't think you are at wrong at all to ask for documentation. Seems like he is just scamming you.
With that being said I think you went wrong by guaranteeing a certain grade and that just opens up doors for scammers
