I posted about 10 days ago that a new eBay Buyer had not received one of my auction items. Well I sent him 2 e-mails stating that. "I will send out a replacement, or refund his money, but send me an e-mail back which he would prefer?
Crickets …….. He sends nothing.
Today I get an e-mail like he is responding for the first time. "I still have not received this item". My response is, "An exact replacement is on it's way today, and eBay will be informed of your non-response to my request, and all activity in this file will be documented.
This eBay user is new, and only has 40 feedbacks. He needs to be blocked by everyone. In my 14 years on eBay, when people do not respond to a simple request that is in their favour, then they are lying sacks of dung. This is my first liar outside of Quebec.

Hey all, new ebayer to block.
Sold a $100 item to Rick Riedel ebay username riedel0_3, figured I was safe since hes got over 2600 feedback, but boy was I wrong.
I should have realized it from the start. His address didn't even have a country included in it, I contacted him and he said it was a U.S. address and he was in the military so they would ship it to him, he's currently in Germany. So I sent it out Feb. 2nd, and Feb. 16th he contacts me and says he hasn't received it yet.. two weeks and he expected it to go from Canada to New York and then to Germany, well Feb. 17 it's returned to me in the mail for improper postage/address. I let him know its been returned and he replies "Send it out!!".. again I probably should have just taken the negative and canceled the transaction.. but I'm a bit too trusting. So I have it sent out again on the 20th because my post office was having some cash register issues.
Again two weeks later the message stating "where is my item" blah blah, I explain to him that I told him before, it had been returned to me I sent it out again, be patient and I'm sure you'll get your item. I figured 2-3 weeks to get to New York another 2-3 weeks to get to Germany.
Well he opened a case against me and his response was "if you want to be nasty, I can be nasty too!!"... I may have been a bit snippy when he called me out for not communicating when clearly I responded within hours of all of his messages, but I have the feeling his intentions was to steal the item from the get-go. I figure I've got no chance of winning the case, I'll try my hardest, but now I've got items on ebay I can't pay for until the case is over and I'm a student down $100.
Please avoid all head aches if you ship internationally and block riedel0_3. Very demanding, negative, and down right unpleasant to deal with.

You should not be on eBay if first a person has to send to a State-side address, then somebody else has to forward this to an APO. That's nonsense.

I know right? Even if tracking is provided it's only going to track to the destination within the U.S. and then he could still claim he has not received the item because tracking would not go any further than that.
Anyways if the claim is escalated I may have found a legal way to win the case through ebay's "false or missing contact information" requirements. Technically the address he provided me with is a "falsified address" as it is not directly his address, but is in fact a military address... might not be the strongest case, but I think if I argued it hard enough I could come out a winner.

i have had this same situation occur with a member of the military (whom i tend to trust since they are soldiers).here's how i handled . i shipped to the address they gave me to ship to. it becomes the buyers responsibility for the forwarding not mine. ebay/paypal agreed with me on that and the military personnel was the unfortunate one. seems a shame that he was ripped off by his own organization as the post office sent it to the military base.

Thank you for this information icefields! If you don't mind is it possible for you to PM me your name and an ebay case number that I could reference in the event that the case is escalated? I'll understand if you don't want to be involved, but any extra help, especially a previous case, would boost my side of the argument significantly.

I know the guy well. He bought or traded for all of the cards that he has listed on ebay. This is evidence of what connections and a lot of money can get you.

Not sure if he has a lot of money, he submitted an offer of $200 for an Ovechkin NHL Shields Logo 1/1 so in my book he's looking for steals instead of fair deals. I don't see the point to list many cards with high prices when we know some the listed Crosby cards went for a lot less, and we know that once a card is listed on eBay it is burn for a long time for card shows, private collections, etc. Few high-end collectors/investors liquidated their suff in the past years.
