Jim Brown. Even some of the top RB's today say that Jim Brown was the man. He had speed and power while racking up huge numbers during a short 9 year career. He also played in 12 and 14 game seasons which make his accomplishments even greater. Personally I feel that if Brown didn't retire early, there would of been a different rushing leader.

He is the best there is, best there was, and best there ever will be...and he still has plenty of time left.

Thats absurd to say after his implosion at the beginning of the season. He's definately HOF material, but to say the best ever is a stretch.

Jim Brown as far as now, Ladainian Tomlinson eventually. LT is well ahead of Emmitt Smith after 7 seasons. He already holds several NFL records. The main thing that separates LT from any other back is that he also catches the ball. 100 catches in a single season! 31 TDs (28 Rushing) in a single season! Name a back that could run and catch like LT. Also, in 7 years he has only NOT started 1 game. He is also gone the entire 2007 season without a fumble!
This is definitely a future NFL Informer article!

With all the people stating Jim Brown, Sanders it looks like your not many agree. L.T. is the best there is bar none right now. Of course there so much to look at and you can't compare things evenly. Just like you can't compare era's either as so much has changed.
With Mike mentioning L.T. as a great pass catcher is that to say JIM BROWN couldn't have done that. It just didn't happen back then (as you can't compare qb back then to now with stats. To say L.T. is better than Barry might be true in certain areas but the main things is getting as many yards as you can per carry. Barry averaged more than 5 yards per carry and people have stated he never had a good team, good o-line in front of him, good qb, good wr's (no one year wonders L.T. has that same problem but he does have Gates), etc.
This has been argued so much and it will continue as a new RB steps up to make his claim as the Best Now and of All Time. It fun to get people going as they love to throw the props out for their favorite.

What implosion would that be...did he not have as great of a year as last year...no...but implosion???
He led the NFL in rushing yards...AGAIN...and if this so called implosion happened...I wish I could have an implosion and still out rush the rest of the NFL by over 100 yards....some stats of Barry and Emmitt since everyone says they are that much better...
LT had 315 carries for 1474 rushing yds this year and 60 catches for 475...total yards of 1949...in what most of us would say was a down year for LT...so comparing a down year with 2 of the greats of all time...
Emmitt in 15 seasons, had more then 1,474 rushing yards only 5 times. LT already had eclipsed that 3 times. 1949 yards from scrimmage Emmitt only had twice, LT had had over 2,000 yard from scrimmage 4 times already!
I go to rushing TDs, LT had a very below average year with TDs only scoring 15...Emmitt only scored more then 15, 3 times in his 15 years. LT has already scored 15 rushing TDs or more 4 times in his 7 years.
He out does Emmitt already drastically in his 7 years...and thats not even really mentioned what he does when the ball gets thrown his way.
Onto Barry...
Barry in 10 seasons, eclipsed LT's 1,474 rushing yards 6 times. However his yards from scrimmage he only topped 2,000 2 times. Rushing TDs, Barry only had 15 or more rushing TDs in a season once, to LT's 4.
I don't believe you can put Jim Brown in the argument because of how the game has changed since the 50s and 60s.
So to compare LT with Emmitt and Barry is far from being absurd...he is better statistically speaking then both 7 years into there career. If your being picky and saying everything ended right now...I agree LT isnt the best ever...but LT has years left...plenty of years left...and my friends...we are watching the best RB EVER to play the game right now...so enjoy it while it lasts.

I think L.T will be a greater running back one day, HOFer for sure, I think if AP can stay healthy he will be up there, but only if he is as productive know or more productive
