wow why are people saying it was only good for special effects? it had a great fluent story and... well.. for a nearly 3-hour movie, it didn't drag at all...

I just saw it, it's was good but not great. There were better movies made this year. James Cameron has done better movies. The 3D was pretty cool and I would recommend everyone to see it in 3D than the regular version.
Grade: B+

Saw the movie in 3D today. I thought that the 3D effects were under-used, its not the typical 3D where thing pop out at you and such, it just makes it look more realistic. I thought that the movie was pretty good, and for almost a 3 hour movie there was minimal drag.
Overall, I give it an A-/B+

Try to see it in IMAX 3D instead of Digital 3D. You would feel the effects more in IMAX. I tried to get IMAX, but they were all sold out for the day so I had to settle for digital. But I know some of the shots would look really good in IMAX.

just got back seeing it second time going for third friday at imax..
this by far best movie i have ever seen imo. the graphics and visual effects is amazing this is the first of future movies with these special effects by far. James Cameron is my favorite director and this new technology is amazing
the story line, everything was amazing, not sure why people say its not good etc, but since this was released the movie has sold out every single time at scotia bank theatre here at west edmonton mall....i tried getting into imax twice, both times with 10 hours window, sold out, so i decided to buy tickets for friday for imax.

I saw this a week or two ago, the cgi stuff was cool but the movie itself was more middle of the road. I'd give it 3.5/5 or 7/10 whichever way you want to scale it. Pretty cool, but not a classic or anything

they are already talking about giving it the "titanic treatment" which means they will leave it in theaters forever so it will break records. obviously they have a right to make all the money they want but this is one of james cameron's deals with the studios I think. They have to leave his movies in much longer than most movies stick around.

Well I have no problem with it, because like cam98 said I have seen it twice and I plan on seeing it with my family for my third time. A lot of people love this movie, but they just don't seem to be on this chat thread.
In the long run this movie will be considered a classic I guarantee it.

I didn't like it at all. They should have ended it when the big tree fell. It should have fell on the comander.... It's a mediocre movie at best.
