    Mine was deleted and I did nothing to say that I was a fan of UD baseball from the beginning but have some trust issues with the company and they need to respect the customers---apparently trust and respect are something they are trying to distance themselves from

    But I agree it is their blog and they can keep what they want on it. A company should be able take critizism and improve. If UD continues treating everyone as we are stupid, and crying over losing the baseball contract, I predict a slow painful death for the company by the end of 2011. You figure their court fees alone must be eating the heck out of the bottom line

    I've been following this thread off and on since in started...... but just made my way over the the blog now (you get the just of it in the first post anyway).

    I fully agree with the point here. Upper Deck crying that MLB took away their license, when they did the same thing with hockey, is now one of the best examples I could point anyone at, of pot calling kettle black.

    But as for comments, and them being removed. What does this have to do with free speech or customer service? You're posting comments on a privately owned blog site. What the owner of the site wants to do with your comments is entirely up to them.

    His response to your comments, is pretty funny though. Some companies wanted to move away from hockey? I guess that must be topps. Pacific went under. I'm fairly certain ITG would have liked to keep their license.

    I think Topps wants back into hockey now though with the Puck Attack game thingy and I would happily welcome them back.

    I know Pacific was not looking to move away from Hockey. I can throw ITG into the mix. That would only leave a few other companies out there. To me that far from plenty but to each their own. We could ask the others to see if your statement is true but alas it water under the bridge.

    Your right UD has delivered some great products but again your discounting the other two companies above by making it look like only UD believe in the players and the sport.

    Ud has some awesome products and I doubt you will find anyone that will disagree with that. What you will find is many consumers who bought UD who have a story to share about Customer Service and how UD has not delivered in many instances when dealing with UD customer service department. I seen hundreds of post of folks complaining about cards they did not get or were shortchanged because the athlete never signed, a mistake was made, the damaged card could not be replaced due to no replacement stock (limited print run cards), etc.

    So while you might be talk about new product and how they are performing like gang busters I wish the customer service department could live up to the product billing. With a monopoly it not like the consumers truly has another avenue to take their business as your the only game in town. Right?

    Since my post was taken down and you have that right. Just do not put up things without sharing the whole spectrum of facts.

    Is this a good thing for the industry a hot topic on your UD facebook page:

    “As many of you are aware who received these cards there was a production problem with our vendor where the wrong codes were placed on some cards. We are reviewing this situation currently to gauge the scope of the problem and have put a hold on shipping any more at this time. Rest assured, we will resolve this for our collectors to make sure everyone is taken care of. Look for an announcement on this program in the next 1-2 weeks. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

    A apologize for a inconvience that just my view on how UD can be good for the industry like many collectors. I admit UD makes great product and buy them from time to time but when you silence the issues you only show that your only look for YES MEN and POSITIVE PRESS not HONESTY.

    I will drop a note to Dr. Price, Topps, and Jeff Morris from Pacific to see if what you say is true. Are you say ITG, Topps, and Pacific were planning on moving away or you referring to Fleer or Donruss. In the end 2 moving away is not the majority when we are talking 5 companies that produced NHL cards.

    Hi everyone, I have been a member of this site for some time but only as an observer.

    This thread however, begs my involvement.

    I have posted on the UD blog but I would not be surprised if my reply was taken down, I knew that when I posted it.

    Donald contacted me for my response and it was short and to the point:

    "What a crock!"

    Upper Deck crying foul over the MLB exclusive in baseball after what they and the NHLPA did to In The Game by granting a five year monopoly in hockey is like the Menendez brothers pleading with the court for leniency in their sentencing after being found guilty of killing their parents, because they are orphans.

    Terry really misrepresented the situation in hockey. In addition, the NHLPA gave Upper Deck an exclusive during the lock-out season not at the end of the lock-out. I know that for a fact because that's when Ted Saskin informed me that our license was not being renewed and that Upper Deck was getting a five-year exclusives. I have emails to back that up.

    I have a lot more to say on the subject but I don't want to wear out my welcome.

    I would to give Upper Deck some serious competition for the next five years but that doesn't seem to be in the cards.
