Tired of ebay! Rant rant rant

Be happy you dont live overseas :) Then you would be happy to pay just 4$ shipping... almost every time i get to pay 2x the acutal shipping fee (sometimes 3x), people want 10$ for regular shipping etc.

You haven't bought from me then! I only charge $5.29 to anywhere out side North America. The stamp alone with tax is $5.20. I then have the bubble mailer etc! Anyways, just sayin.

You are right. If you post that shiping will be '$#.##' and then you charge it, buyers should be expecting to pay that, and should have no problem paying that.

But what are you getting for that money?

I know you are talking about $2.99 shipping costs, which is very fair (and as I've said - is the same thing I charge to go from Canada to USA). I see no problem with that.

But what about the guy that charges $5 for the same style of shipping? As a buyer - I know that he's charging $5, and I agreed to pay $5 when I bid on his card. I expect to pay the $5, and will pay it. No questions asked.

But what am I getting for my $5?? The same penny sleeve, top loader, team bag, and bubble mailer that you or I would ship with for $2 less?? I wouldn't give that guy 5 stars, becuase he's over charging for shipping.

Of course maybe he's charging extra becuase the card will be shipping in a one-touch, instead of a top loader, or there some other shipping method he's using that makes the $5 fair. I'm certainly willing to consider that, and would still be willing to leave 5 stars on shipping costs if the cost was fair.

They overcharge by a buck or two on the shipping, so they come up ahead there.... and make up for the supposed loss on the price of the card. I just don't agree with it, and I won't leave 5 stars for anyone who charges more than actual material / postage cost + $1.

Ebay might as well just put restrictions on Shipping prices - ie. max from US - CAN OR CAN - USA $3 -max within CAN $2

no reason for standard shipping it should cost any more for supplies and postage than those prices

seems like more and more people just want to add $$$ to their paypal

Personally, I would love to buy items from you at those shipping prices. I can hardly get one card shipped to me from a US seller for that price. What do people expect? Most people are charging way more than that to ship one card.

I had a couple clowns bomb my ratings because one of them didn't pay for the item, the other I had to file to get my fees back and the buyer got mad, took 2+ weeks to pay. I contacted ebay and they removed the feedback/star ratings. Please take note in those cases the buyers left positive feedback, but since I now pay attention to my star ratings I can tell who leaves what, and ebay removed them per my request since I could prove they did it out of spite. I charge $2.50 for shipping in mailer with DC and ship next day of payment, yet they both left me 1's in those categories. I think if sellers can't leave feedback, then buyers feedback needs to be policed especially since the star ratings effect us. Perhaps a way to block bidders who consistantly leave poor star ratings.

I just love ready rants on here. Dont get me wrong, I am not critizing anyone but it just makes for good ready. I have done it myself. It is a great way to releave your frustration. 9 times out of 10 there is another trader on this site who has had the same problem.

I charge $3.50 overseas for 1 card in a bubble mailer, it only costs $1.39 to UK, Germany, Sweden.

Czech Republic and Poland are about 20 cents more. I am now doing more eBay sales to Europe than I am in the USA.

I usually pay $3, maybe $4 for shipping to Sweden, 1 card in bubble mailer. Which is fair I think. I've always avoided sellers charging more than that, I don't think it's worth more.

What you discovered and said in your original post is something I figured out around 5 years ago. eBay does not want anyone from outside of the US to sell low value items. If they did, they would not have made it impossible for anyone outside of the US to have any protection. eBay only protects the seller if they send with a registered #'d. Cost to send via registered mail from Canada to the US? Bare MINIMUM $20. From the US to Canada? Less than a dollar. The end. That's it. Impossible to sell anything for less than $500.

If eBay didn't own Paypal it would have gone under years ago. Just as a side note, eBay also owns part of craigslist. Makes you wonder why they would own something that basically competes against themselves?
