As a Pistons fan, i am alittle sketchy on this, everyone says this is good. its really detremental to the team in my opinion. Chauncey was a clutch shooter and a top 5 point guard, he opened up people because teams feared his 3 point ability. his flaw was though that he usually wasnt agressive enough in wanting to shoot.
the upside that you all may of forgot, is Rodney Stuckey may be the starting PG come next season if they dont resign AI..
hopefully Iverson will FINALLY put his ego aside and play TEAM basketball. Joe Dumars is a great GM so i dont think he would bring him in unless he thought it would be a great fitHidden Content

I can see your concern Dan,
But ironically things that you stated Billups can do, so can AI. And Billups' weakness is AI's strength.
Only things is, Detroit now lacks a PG.
Stuckey will be a solid PG but not right away. It will be up to AI to handle that position.
I agree, Joe Dumars is probably the best GM out there in NBA today and this deal will eventually develops Pistons into a championship team again.
If they dont like AI, they simply have 20 million dollars in cap space to work with.
If Pistons are not in No.1 or 2 but 4 or 5 in the East by the trade deadline, watch Dumars trading away Hamilton and Sheed.

Thank god for this trade. the pistons finally get a superstar who can score some points for a team. i like how people say A.I. is older, however he plays like hes in his 20's. While Chauncey plays like hes 40. Chauncey isnt the PG of 2004 when he was Finals MVP. Pistons Got a steal IMO.

As a Nuggets fan this hurts quite a bit but...
I have no problem with Billups coming over.
As for McDyess, you can basically count him out of the equation.
He's already refused to wear a Nuggets jersey and will probably get bought out/retire.

Great move by the Nuggets...Denver is in dire need of a point guard. They traded Andre Miller to acquire AI, stupidly let Steve Blake walk after his great half season there, Chucky Atkins has never stayed healthy and Anthony Carter is a serviceable backup point guard, but not a starter. This gives them not just a legitimate point guard who can shoot and pass with the best, but an excellent perimeter defender as well. This will also allow J.R. Smith to start at shooting guard, rather than wasting his talent in reserve. Iverson may be the better player than Billups, but Billups is a major upgrade for Denver in terms of need. Also, AI is in the final year of his contract so he was likely to leave as a free agent this summer if they failed to trade him. Billups, on the other hand has 3 years left on his contract with an option for a fourth, giving the Nuggets long-term stability at point guard along with SG (Smith), SF (Melo), PF (KMart), and C (Nene). All are under contract for multiple seasons so they have a great core moving forward and this makes them instant contenders compared to where they were before this deal. I assume you don't follow the NBA much. Ask any true NBA fan and they'll tell you the Nuggets made a heck of a deal. Detroit...not so much.
