eBay help... This is why I never sold there..

Well. Long story short, I sold a Jake Long RC Auto /10 on eBay for $105. Dude was out of town on Friday when it was delivered. Here is a message I got today. I did NOT insure :( Do I bite the bullet? Thanks guys

I opened your package today after getting it from my Mom's house and found that the card is not only smashed in by Jake's name of fabric. It appears that something dented the lower part of the card and there is a complete crack in the letter J and A of the card. Obviously I am not even close to being satisfied because this card is not in the condition as your picture showed on the EBAY auction. I will gladly send you pics of the card, but wish to get a total refund because this is not what I paid over $100 for because not only can I not use it in my framing project, but I can't even sell it because it is below any quality of my cards. Please let me know how you want to handle this matter. I read your question and answer area and notice that you will make me pay for the return shipping which doesn't seem fair that it was delivered to me in a horrible state and no where near mint condition. However, if that is what it has to be then so be it. Rick

Yeah it's a pretty shady situation. I know the card was literally atleast a 9 and possibly a 9.5 when I shipped it, and I package everything with perfection as I work for UPS and see lots of things happen, but this is very hard to believe. Something probably happened while is mom had it? or just decided he didnt like the price he paid and murdered the card to get his money back. Hope karma plays its role if that is the case.

unfortunatly it sounds as if you have no choice but to bite the bullet here i just hope he wouldnt intentionally destroy a perfectly good card just to get a refund.

Problem is, using technicalities I offer a refund within 3 days (72) hours. He messaged me 80 Hours after delivery confirmation. I also trying not to be a scumbag neither, but I really can't afford to give him his money as I xferred the money to my bank account this morning, and I got bills to pay. Legit.

what about paypal buyer credit? you could issue him a refund using that and still keep the money in your bank account.

And that would keep my paypal negative, right? I really would consider that. The feeling isn't great when you know you didnt do anything , and have to dish out the money that is already 'spent' for someone elses messup. ugh
