Why do I hate LeBron? He's cocky. He's arrogant. He's classless. He's wasting more talent than anyone in the NBA has. He's gutless. He's a choker. The Decision. I haven't liked him since he got to the Cavs. Plus, it was incredibly disrespectful to give up the #23 to "honor Michael Jordan" and then take #6, which was worn by Bill Russell (how many rings does he have, LeBron?) and Julius Erving. This is also why I hate him:

Sorry. Kobe never wore 23. But I always thought he chose 24 to be 23 "and 1". No real basis or truth, just my gut feeling.

I usually don't care of players' personalities or characteristics because most likely I probably won't ever get to know them personally.
I only care about their GAMES.
Lebron has all the physical tools that are unrivaled since the days of Magic Johnson.
As a sidenote, I personally think MJ or Kobe is a type of player who thrived because of their work ethic. They only have better than average physicality.
I do not like Lebron because he has been a serious waste of talent.
He can be the greatest player of all time, just does not have intangibles or HEART of a champion.
People make fun of him all the time
"You ask Lebron a change for a dollar, you only get 3 quarters back" or
"The biggest choker: Lebron > Sprewell"
they are all legit.
He certainly did not deliver his skillset at the right time, and after 10 years of playing, you really have to question whether he will EVER deliver.
Unless I see his breakout performance where he will take over the game and win a crucial game in a series that gives him a ring, I just cannot root for him.
Every great players have those performances, MJ, Magic, Bird, Kareem, Kobe, Isiah etc....
And Lebron doesn't have that.

Some people will never be happy with what Lebron does....that's the way it works for some athletes. Lebron maybe the most hated athlete ever...... Why? Because he is cocky? On the court every player is cocky basically. I am a celtics fawn butni think we should enjoy the player that lebron is... He is a great overall talent. Will he win championships I don't know....

This thread makes me laugh and only reiterates the point that people hate lebron for no good reason.
He is wasting talent? He is by far the best player in the league.
He is cocky, arrogant, eco etc. All the reasons people love Kobe and Jordan.
we can get over Kobe raping a girl but not over lebron giving to charity while histing a TV show telling people he is going to Miami.
Seriously... raping a girl is cool. Telling the world you are going to Miami is over the line though....
Way too funny

No, he's not "by far" the bet player in the league, and he's not the best player on his own team. He's proven when it's time to win a game, he wants no part of it, so he can't be the best when he doesn't want to prove it when the best prove it.
You seem to be spinning these 'bad reasons' to make them sound normal. The TV show was to make Cleveland look terrible (which it did) and was for LeBron to stroke his ego. That show wasn't done to help charity. It was just a factor from the show.
Did Michael Jordan call himself the "King"? Nope. LeBron gave himself the nickname which he doesn't deserve, to once again, stroke his ego. LeBron is so cocky and arrogant due to all the "Yes men" he keeps around, because he wants mindless people with no backbone around him.Last edited by gladdyontherise; 05-01-2012 at 09:58 PM.

Like Dan said, he's not by far the best player in the league. Most athletic and talented? No doubt. But he's not even the best basketball player on his own team. Wade does more with less than James. Just because LeBron is a physical freak and gets calls that no one else in the league gets does not make him the best player in the league, or the Heat.
I don't like Kobe and I don't like Jordan...but none of them even came close to some of the displays of LeBron in his arrogance. Just look at the video I posted...I'm not saying they weren't as cocky; they just knew how to do it without coming off as bad as LeBron.
Kobe's sexual assault case has nothing do with LeBron being an arrogant jerk, and no one said it was okay. It's not what Baby 'Bron 'Bron did, it's how he did it.

Apparently this guy feels its cool to rape a woman vs. "screwing" the fans
Awesome set of ideal here and shows just how far people reach when hating James.
As well, he IS by far the best playe rin the NBA. Thats not a doubt. im sorry you guys hate him too much to see the light. He is having one of the best if not the best season of anyone of all time. Point blank. No one is close to his level this season or over the past decade. This is not a question to be debated really. Its just the reality.
If you think Kobe or Jordan were never as arrogant as James then you have no clue who those 2 guys were. Jordan was no ambassador anymore then James has been. Jordan was the biggest A-hole in the world on and off the court. His teammates hated him for the most part. Lebrons problem is that he cares and the other 2 didnt give a crap what people thought.
BTW, you 2 even thinking Wade is close to Lebrons level at this point just shows how completely off base with reality your arguments truly are.
Keep making excuses for how he didnt show up in a couple games. Its about the only flaw in his game thats out there and im 99.99% sure that people will still do it even if he wins 2-3 or 4 championships. People will always find a reaon to hate him and not appreciate the fact that you are witnessing one of the greatest of all times play right in front of your eyes.

Yes, you can make that argument but also it is hard to argue that Lebron is the best player in the playoffs.
I have never seen him perform the way he did in the regular season in a 7 game series that puts his team over the top.
His ringless fingers would justify that at this point.
And yes, if he somehow proves that he is the BEST PLAYER IN THE PLAYOFFS, by carrying his team by himself and get a signature win which makes his team to win it all, then it is hard to criticize him at least on the floor.
Every great player who is considered top 10 caliber players of all time has done it and even D-wade has done it before, but not Lebron.....just not yet.
We'll keep this best player in the world argument strictly regular season for Lebron because he is....at least in the regular season.
But playoffs is what really counts. Everyone knows that and even Lebron knows that but apparently he shied away from big stages.
That's why I do not respect Lebron as a player.

In the end its just this simple.. and I think someone touched on it earlier.
People hate the guy because they hate the guy. They dont have a real reason. They just take certain things and say I hate him because of this but fail to recognize that nearly every player is like that. They will come up with reasons why he isnt this or that. They fail to appreciate what he brings to the game and his true talent. "Realized and unrealized". Whatever the hell excuse that is.
There is no use arguing with a person who has their mind dead set on this and its pointless to keep going on about it. They simply dont like him and nothing will ever change that.
