I think your onto something here. It would be gradual and take quite awhile but if the US keeps sliding on the liberal downspiral, it doesn't seem too far fetched. Sci fi today yes, real in the future, I don't think its that much of a stretch.
Why do libs care so much for the lives of the convicted rapist, murderer, and terrorist but not for the unborn or the sickly?

Why do conservatives care so much for cells that don't feel, have no heart and can't be medically counted as a person, but don't give two craps about live humans who suffer in America and constantly want to take away social safety nets but then want to give the richest Americans more tax breaks?
Why do conservatives care so much about the smoking a plant less harmful than tobacco but don't care if people literally drink themselves to death drinking literal poison that is alcohol?
Why do conservatives care so much about not wanting gays (EWW, YUCKY, Two boys kissing!) to get married, but don't care if straights can get divorced, marry multiple times, and continue to disrespect the "sanctity" of marriage?
Oh and since when do Conservatives care for the "Sickly"....what a joke!
These are the same people fighting tooth and nail to repeal the ONLY comprehensive health care system this stupid country has ever had....and their solution as to what to replace Obamacare with?
NOTHING!
Social Conservatism....the real danger to America.

as far as the death panels, I am not sold on this yet, but we will see, anything can happen, but so can anything else.
libs vs conservatives on the breakdown of society, nothing new there. when it comes to the people running the show, both sides are messed up. when it comes to the average person, most are not that bad.
the sad part is, if both sides gave a crap and wasn't crooked as crap, they could work together and get some amazing stuff done.

I understand it's her choice. Suicide is a choice. Suicide is always terrible, even if it's done with a smiling face. I just don't think it should be sponsored by the State or turned into a spectator sport.

So the alternative is to suffer and STILL die....
At least this way she can choose to die in a more peaceful manner.
And if anything it's the State denying us OUR freedom to do with our bodies what we want to.
Who the HELL is the state to force ANYONE to suffer when they're going to die anyways?
Why should the State come between YOU and YOUR doctor?
Why should the state come between YOU and YOUR body?

Very good point, this woman could do this in private and very few people would have or should have known; sounds agenda driven to me. Since gay marriage is taking the country by storm, maybe the liberal agenda assumes that it has won that one and it's time to move onto to next agenda item...euthanasia??? Just food for thought.

weird thing is, is that I am in agreement with alex, though for different reasons.
the issue is that the word suicide is being used and the obvious negative stigma involved.
do soldiers commit suicide by going into battle? does the doctors and the nurse treating ebola commit suicide or they attempted to? did anyone who died saving a life commit suicide? they all had choices.

If someone is terminal then they should have the right to end their life when they choose. Life should be celebrated.
I watched a documentary on a guy who had ALS and lost all function before he was assisted with suicide. Had to fly to Europe to do it. His life was celebrated before he left the US. He made a video of his end if days.Last edited by GroundSupport; 10-10-2014 at 09:31 AM.
