I couldn't beleive it when I heard it.
Me being a huge canes fan Sean Taylor was always one of my favorite players and he was always my safety for Madden.
It's a real shame and he a a one year old daughter that he will never see to grow up.
I honesty though he wass going to be alright, but when I heard he actually died I was shocked.
I met him before in a pre-game back in '02 and he seemed to be a nice guy, but did have his legal issues and changed his life when he had his daughter.
A real sad story.

Sean Taylor was probably my favorite NFL players. I remember going to an Arizona Cardnials game last year just to watch Sean Taylor play (also because I am a Skins fan). He had a phenomenal game with an interception and I also think he forced a fumble.
Anyways, this is extremely shocking and sad news. My thoughts and prayers go out to Sean's family, the Redskins, and the NFL.
R.I.P. Sean Taylor

Sean, among a few others, was the reason I am a 'Canes fan at all. I am a die-hard Michigan fan, but when Ohio State played Miami in the Championship Game a few years back, I started to pay attention to Miami and their players. This is when I found out about Sean, Jonathan Vilma, Willis McGahee..... Since that draft year, I have been closely following tose guys in the NFL. Sean had amazed 300+ tackles, 12 INTs, 7 Forced Fumbles, and 2 Sacks in JUST 3 1/2 years as a pro. I am in shock still at a little after midnight PST. I am sure that this will put a huge damper on the rest of the season and maybe more to come. My thoughts and prayers ARE going to be with the whole Taylor family. Thanks for the great memories bro! You WILL be missed! Rest peacefully.

Shocking to say the least. From the initial reports I thought he was going to make it. I was shocked to hear this morning that he passed away.
If this is a "revenge" killing for something Sean did years ago that is even more sad. How can someone hate someone else so much that they would take another man's life years later? Unless someone did something terrible to one of my family members I don't think I could hate anyone enough months or years later.
People should take this tragedy to heart. Today in America and around the world 100s if not thousands of crimes like this happened today based on hate or just some thug acting like a criminal. We are only hearing about this crime because it happened to a pro athlete. Hate and violence is never the answer and I can't help but feel this was retaliation for something Sean did in his past like winning a fight or disrespecting someone. You hear uneducated criminals all the times said, "well he disrespected me so I killed him." Sad!

Crazy, sad, just wrong. RIP big fella, I had a lot of respect for the guy, I live in MD so I see/here a lot of the Redskins stuff.
Kinda hard to believe that whoever shot him intented to kill the guy though.... only 2 shots fired, 1 missed, 1 hit in the leg. You'd think if it was supposed to be a "hit" that he would have been shot more than just once. I kinda wonder if someone just wanted to scare, or just injure him so that he couldn't play anymore. The whole story about the previous break-ins, and someone leaving a knife on his bed, cutting his power....very strange.
Another human gone too soon!

well the reports that the phone lines were cut was just garbage reporting (as usual)....that was not the case, phones just weren't working.
also, i originally thought the same thing....if ya wanted to kill someone, you dont shoot them in the leg.....but there could have easily been a struggle, thus the "wreckless shot"
still in shock....the last 24 hours have been a blur

Shocking and very sad. No one should ever die that young. My thoughts go to his family, friends, and the Redskins organization.
I hope there is enough evidence to catch the murderer.
