he also gives a lot of game used stuff to his family to sell. didn't the cowboys pay him enough, that he had to give them stuff to sell? if i remember right, didn't he change clothes at half time so he had 2 record setting uniforms to sell? yeah, thats not greedy or selfish. go emmitt, sell some stuff.

Do you have a link to back up the his family selling his stuff?
I think he changed his uniform so he had one for himself and one for the HOF.

lets see now, does his family own a sports card and memorabilia store, oh yeah they do.
i have read articles about the store.
what are the odds that the one he kept got sold?
OH YEAH, BARRY IS STILL THE BEST. did you ever see barry score a touchdown? he either laid the ball on the ground or handed it to an official. emmitt kept his.

how does keeping a football or handing it to the referee have ANYTHING to do with who was the best player of all time? Being a great player and a fantastic person are two totally different things
Case in point- Look up Ty Cobb. One of the better ball players ever, but an absolute POS as a person
This conversation has been great so far, why turn it into a bashing of Emmitt because he sells some of his stuff?

in my opinion the greatest running back of all time has class. this isn't baseball, this is football and i especially like players with class. i eliminated o. j. just because he is a piece of crap.
i believe class is also a part of what defines a great running back.
example--name a great home run hitter. i wonder why nobody would mention barry bonds.

barry bonds was a great home run hitter- based on stats alone. thats how i judged the best RB, by on the field exploits, not off the field issues

I could care less about an atheletes activities off the field. I find it sad that just because a person has fame, we need to know everythign about them, I say let them go on the field, do their thing and after that who cares, on the field, emmit, o.j. barry, (even bonds) were some of the best at at what they did and that is all that matters

bonds wasn't squat, unless you count juicing, and i certainly don't
if it looks like a duck- walks like a duck- and sounds like a duck-guess what, its a duck.
i eliminate emmitt because of his offensive line, without them, he was just average.
and emmitt had a few HOFERS on the team with him. actually, i think his o-line belongs in the hall as much as he does. behind that o-line, you could get 100 yards a game.
what barry did with ABSOLUTELY no line at all was nothing short of awesome. thats why he is the greatest, and SAY WHAT YOU WANT, he did it with class.

well if you disapprove of people like bonds, then why stop there, read the article i am posting in the proper baseball forum that will open your eyes to the reality of the game, not just your biased running with the crowd judgements. it will make you realize that you will have to bad mouth more peopel than bonds.... yeah

AT Bearfield:
why are you so damn confrontational? this is an opinion based question, and many people have had fantastic points, and they are willing to agree when they hear a point they like, or agree to disagree at the worst, but they seem to do it in a friendly way- you seem to be intent on proving your point, which is fine, and intent on proving everyone who doesnt agree with you is an idiot- which is NOT fine. Im done on this post, before it gets ugly
Oh, and I totally agree with you that Barry is the top running back ever (tied with Jim Brown) but I was able to debate without trying to knock anyone down or ridiculing their beliefs
