Brett Favre had 2 years left on his contract. Does that mean he quit? Barry had had enough of the Lions BS teams. Don't really blame him either. Being the best running back of all time be deserved to be traded to a winner & wasn't allowed to be.

Are you kidding me??? Favre played 17 years without missing a start! How in the world is that quitting?????????????? He did everything you could possibly want him to! And not making excuses for Barry...just stating the truth...he was a better back than Emmitt Smith. Plain & simple.

you guys cant be serious??? I thought I had heard it all, but now I've heard everything........
Brett Favre and Barry are quitters???
Why, because they were still All-Pros when they retired???? Let me guess...Emmitt retired because he stuck around as long as his body would permit, even if it meant wearing a Cardinals uniform????????????????????
I'm really having a hard time following your logic.
But seriously, anybody who thinks Emmitt is better than Barry is either a die-hard Cowboys fan or doesn't watch football very closely.....call me a football guru if you want, but even Stevie Wonder could see this

Emmitt Smith is a no brainer HOF....but that O-line consisted of Larry Allen, Nate Newton, Erik Williams & Mark Stepnoski....I cant remember who else, but those 4 were all-pros
I actually remember Derrick Lassic, who played 2 games in his entire NFL career....they were the first 2 games of the 1993 season, while Emmitt was holding out...here's what he did in 2 games behind that O-line....
75 carries, 269 yards, 3 TD

redgonewild, you, guru, you, don't you wonder where some of the posters on here get their info, and their opinions? favre and sanders quitters, DUH!
favre has earned the right to do as he damn well pleases, without someone exercising their right of free speech to criticize them. free speech is one thing, but to use that right to criticize favre is downright wrong. i have other words but i would get another warning.
those emmitt fans get downright touchy, probably because they never saw a real running back, ones that didn't have or need an awesome o-line, such as sanders, payton, brown, and i have 7 or 8 more that i say were better than emmitt. before they get real angry, i'll put him at 11 or 12 on my list. heee haw!
