Old thread, but I have to run a mile today for lacrosse tryouts and the goal for everyone was under 6 min. I got 5:54. Fastest I've ever run a mile and the fastest I ever plan to.

    Cool beans!

I got down to 8:17 in my last attempt, but I haven't done any running for over two weeks now because of this stupid cold infection/bronchitis. Urggh.

I'm in 9th grade, and for cross country I run two miles in about 13:50... I've never run just a mile, but I imagine if I just had to run a mile it would be about 5:45

I run Cross Country, I haven't been timed for a mile in a long time surprisingly, but I can run a 5k (3.1 miles) in 18 minutes. So that averages about 6 minutes a mile, but I might be able to run one in less time than that, seeing that I have to pace myself a bit more during races since I run for a longer distance and don't start sprinting till the last half a mile.

Its tough getting better times in the mile!

2 years ago my soccer coach ran me and I ran a 7min 25 sec & also threw up twice....

1 year ago I got a perfect 6 minute after extensive cross country training every morning for about 3 months

about half a year ago I ran a 5min 39 seconds after running some in the summer...

Running seriously in my opinion the hardest sport mentally. Its so difficult to be motivated before and during the work-out, but after running and ending the misery, it feels great

my first couple of high school years i was struggling with trying to get 10 mins.
