It's been a while since I've done some graphing, due to my busy summer schedule, but found time to get some great graphing down today. Attended the Detroit Red Wings' Alumni Associations' 2nd annual charity softball tournament held at Duck Lake Pines Park in Highland, MI today. Got the following personnels who participated in the game to sign for me:
former NHLer Joe Kocur - 1/1 trading card
former NHLer Bryan Smolinski - 1/1 trading card
former NHLer Jason Woolley -1/1 trading card
former NHLer Pat Peake - 1/1 trading card
former NHLer Darren McCarty - 1/1 trading card
former MLBer Steve Avery - 1/1 trading card
actor Jeff Daniels - 1/1 index card
Red Wings' national anthem singer Karen Newman - 1/1 event ticket
former NHLer Kevin Miller - 1/1 trading card
Hockey Hall of Famer Dino Ciccarelli - 1/1 trading card
Former NHLers Mike Krushelnyski and Eddie Mio as well as former MLBer Dave Rozema signed, but I didn't need them. Could have gotten multiple items signed since everybody (except Ciccarelli) was very accommodating, but my first time attending this event so I played it safe with getting one item signed only.
Was at the charity tournament for only a couple of hours before heading out to downtown Detroit at Ford Field for the Detroit Lions' "Uncaged" open practice there. They were going to have an autograph session with all of the players at various stations located throughout the stadium for 45 minutes prior to practice starting, so I got there an hour and a half early before they opened the gates to ensure a chance of getting the signature of the only player I was there to graph. As soon as they opened the gate, I literally ran up the stairs and down the hall of the 2nd level to the station where 5 of the players were signing. So got the following players to sign for me there:
C.C. Brown - 1/1 back of event program
Gosder Cherilus - 1/1 trading card
DeAndre Levy - 1/1 back of event program
Drew Stanton - 1/1 trading card
NDAMUKONG SUH - 1/1 Lions mini-helmet
Suh gave a crappier version of his signature, but can't complain too much there, only having to wait 15 minutes in line to get to him. He didn't look that good in practice as well, though Jahvid Best showed flashes of why the Lions traded to get him in the first round, with his ability to stop and cut on a dime. Should be an exciting season for the Lions though.Last edited by tboculosis; 08-08-2010 at 03:12 AM.

Met former Detroit Tigers' pitcher Dave Rozema at an appearance he was doing at the Busch Fresh Market store out in West Bloomfield, MI for the local sportstalk radio station promoting there. Got Dave to sign a ROMLB (asked if he would include the inscription of "1984 World Series Champs" on it, which he obliged) and a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 promo photo for me.

The radio voice of the Detroit Lions, Dan Miller, and Detroit Lions' wide receiver, Nate Burleson, kicked off their weekly Monday local sports talk radio show, broadcasting live at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Detroit today. Signing policy is only 1 item signed per person, so got Nate to sign a football and asked if he could add the nickname of "Receptacon" on it, which he did.

wish it was still calvin but its better than no one signing. Where there alot of people there? Would it be worth a 45 minute drive?

There were hardly anybody there that lined up to get Nate's autograph. Plus no signs of the Ebay sellers and dealers that plagued Calvin the last 2 years. It'll only be worth it if you want to add Nate's auto to your collection.Last edited by tboculosis; 09-14-2010 at 07:53 PM.

Yeap, the radio station's street team members were making sure that everybody in line would only get one thing signed by Nate. Of course, this is after a guy laid out 3 cards individually to get signed. Very understandable since Nate is only signing when the radio show goes to commercial and try to accommodate as much people as he can during that period.

My gf won tickets to an exclusive performance by Auburn, Bruno Mars, and Jay Sean held at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in downtown Royal Oak, MI by one of the local radio stations. We arrived there early to try to score some graphs as the artists arrived to the venue. Got Bruno Mars on two 5 x 7 photos (personalized to each of us), Auburn on two index cards (personalized to each of us), and Jay Sean on two 5 x 7 photos.
