You can always message the seller. It may not be the best way and I am sure some sellers would just ignore your message. It is the only thing that I can think of.

I believe ebay started hiding bidder's usernames to protect them from aggressive competitors who would contact or harass them about cards they bought.

I overpaid for a card ( which I was comfortable with) that was rare on ebay only to have the guy I outbid send me threatening messages about being a shill bidder for the buyer. He then continued to berate me as an idiot who ruined the hobby for him personally. I essentially had to contact ebay to deal with this tool.

I would be weary on contacting the buyer and asking for the bidder's id. If I found out that a seller leaked out my info to other bidders I would be pissed.

if you are trying to get someone to contact you because they won a card that you want, perhaps you can ask the seller to pass on your information to the winner and he can contact you if he so desires, not sure if this is the situation or not though

Good response, this is what I hope the buyer would choose to do.

What I don't see here (maybe there was another message I'm not aware of??) is where he did it on purpose. He admits to sending the wrong card (it's obvious he did) but that comment from your seller.... it looks to me like he's suggesting the mistake was in your favor, that the patch you got instead was actually nicer.

Of course, as the buyer, that's your decision to make, not his.

Your mistake, IMO, was talking about the negative feedback you were going to leave before you ever got a response from him. A simple message telling him that you got the wrong one, and would like the one in the picture you paid for, that's likely all you needed to do. I can't say that I wouldn't have responded the same way (telling you to shove it) as soon as "I'm going to leave you a negative" enters into the equation.

Really, a request to have the correct one sent out and the wrong one returned (and the seller cover your shipping costs) is all that was needed. Give the seller the opportunity to fix the problem before threatening them with negative feedback. That's going to get you better results.

he sent me a message on SCF saying he sent me the wrong card because its a better card

"Send the card back and I will refund you. I sent you a better card but I respect your decision. I will refund you once the card arrives"

n7unleashed ...there is 3 color maple leaf cards there is differnt blues and white in there jerseys If you look at the top card has a grey(offwhite), blue, and white which is technically 3 differnet colors. where the second card has only blue and white.

eBay started hiding bidders names so that smart Sellers like myself would not comb through a person's feedback and see who the bad behaving buyers were that left negs willy-nilly. Smart Sellers used to comb other's feedback and base their Blocked Buyer List based on behaviour toward others.

Just like we do here. We list an idiot buyer and everyone blocks that buyer. It was in place to be used to do this, and it was an effective tool and gave me the first 50 odd blocked buyers on my list.

eBay wants buyers to spend gobs of money, but they don't care how they behave toward sellers. eBay does not like Blocked Bidders, because they really don't care about sellers.

I used to contact bidders to (politely) solicit bids if I was selling something identical or similar to that on which they had already bid. While this had the potential to be bothersome to some, many others appreciated the heads up and would frequently end up bidding on and winning my items.

This is the reason they stopped. It also help lower the number of "off site" transactions.

There's still so many ways to strike an off-site deal......... eBay is cutting off all our noses and spiting their own face. Glass houses. Little pink houses for you n' me. Run for the hills, run for your life. Holyyyyyyyyyyy I'm bored.
